This in today's Sundail mail from an AFL writer:
Todd Balym @toddbalym , and Andrew Hamilton @andrewhammo72 say "it's a good thing rugby league attendances are not officially audited, because Out of Bounds have been told significant fudging of figures has occured in Sydney. Our spies.....for the Canturbury and Souths on Good Friday was well short of the reported figure. Stadium and NRL claim 51,686 were at ANZ but the real figure was 45,062"
What a load of ALF spin.
Without bragging,i correctly estimated the crowd ( on this thread) at 52,000 well before half time.(
I also based my estimate on tier and stand capacitys at ANZ.
Level 1 was nearly full, but was lowered in capacity by a few thousand by an advertising banner.
Level 1 at ANZ seats around 46,500.
Level 3 seats 13,500 (inc corporates)including the northern end tier. There looked around 7-9k in that level.
Level 6 was opened and had around 2-3k in its 23,500k capacity.
Funny enough, the Swans games are the ones i seem to get wrong. The official figure is always higher than estimations.
Now, i wonder how these ALF muppets got their facts, and secondly, even if it was true, what is their agenda.
They should be worrying about their own drug infested, dictorial, fumbleball piece of crap.
