Most anzac days have been all 30+ havent they? Gotta think this ones a chance to break crowd records
Mid 30s for 2010, 2011 I believe and 2012 cracked 40k. Hopefully we can do the same again. But with SBW there surely we can get 100k.
Most anzac days have been all 30+ havent they? Gotta think this ones a chance to break crowd records
No words for our media these days, talking DOWN the game... why?
Any chance of a Sell out at the Test match? Can still get 10 tickets in a row for Silver section.
Great start to the year for crowds. Next round is a bit of a mixed bag. Roosters/dragons and storm/warriors should both get big crowds. Manly/souths would have to be a sellout unless there is shocking weather.
Sharks/dogs i'm not expecting anything great but it shouldn't be too bad. Cowboys, tigers, titans and panthers games are all a worry. Thankfully Penrith are facing parra so that might stop the crowd from being too small. Hopefully the titans fans finally start showing up a bit.
I'll go for something like
Roosters v dragons - 25K
.
I wouldn't be surprised if the Telecrap comes up with a story like this next Monday.
NRL officially dead in Sydney as rival codes and Gallop triumph
By Bulldog Rothfeldstein
They said it couldn't happen, but last weekend we saw proof at just how low rugby league is now thought of in Sydney.
Sports fans went Swans crazy on Saturday when 35,000 people crammed into the SCG to watch a cracking game of AFL. People in the know say that another 35,000 wanted to attend, but their wasn't enough room.
Then on Sunday Sydney went Wanderers-crazy as Allianz Stadium was packed to the rafters to watch the city's number one sporting team create history with a 12 goal victory over the Central Coast Mariners in the A League final.
And the NRL crowds in Sydney over the weekend? Zero, zip, duck egg!! Not one Sydney-sider bothered to attend an NRL match.. It says a lot about the way David Smith and John Grant are running this once vibrant code.
It comes as no co-incidence that David Gallop's move to soccer has seen that sport prosper, while the NRL is left fighting for it's last breath.
The A League did something last weekend that the NRL never does - and that's sell-out the old Sydney Football Stadium. It also sold out Bluetongue Stadium for the Mariners' semi and Parramatta Stadium for the Wanderers semi.
The NRL dug its grave when it punted Gallop, creating a shift in Sydney's sporting landscape that may never be reversed.

THIS is the ground the NRL and rugby union can't sell out - well thank heavens for the Wanderers.
The fairytale rise of the A-League's newest franchise Western Sydney writes its next chapter at Allianz Stadium on Sunday.
And football chiefs hope the showdown with Central Coast will set a new record at the stadium, thanks to the enthusiasm generated by Western Sydney's astonishing march to the brink of claiming the double in their first season.
The Mariners' previous two visits to Allianz for grand finals have delivered big crowds. Against Sydney FC in 2006, the inaugural grand final, was witnessed by 41,689, while Newcastle's win in 2008 attracted 36,354.
Tickets go on sale to Wanderers and Mariners members today and demand is likely to be extreme, with officials already confident of a sell-out despite the game being held at the home of Sydney FC, the Wanderers' cross-city rivals.
Any remaining tickets, priced at $115, $85 and $55, will go on general sale on Wednesday morning after a window for Football Family members tomorrow.
The ground record is 43,967 for the Socceroos against Argentina in the first leg of a World Cup qualifier in 1993, on a day when the gates were thrown open after the game was over-sold.
Since then expansion works have taken the capacity to 45,500, though almost all of the 6700 stadium members would have to attend, and corporate hospitality be taken up in full.
In June last year, the Wallabies' Test against Wales attracted 42,889, and the last time it was a technical sell-out.
NRL fixtures have occasionally topped the 40,000-mark.
Football Federation Australia chief David Gallop yesterday said he was confident of selling out all publicly available tickets, on the back of the A-League's ebullient season.
"Any time you sell out a game in Sydney, the most competitive sporting market possibly in the world, is a huge statement about the health of your sport," Gallop said.
"Football has smashed through the barrier to become part of mainstream Australian sport in the eighth season of the A-League.
"Sell-outs are a message to the sport's commercial backers that they are riding the wave, and the youthful nature of the crowd will be a reminder to them of football's future growth potential."
The Wanderers' crowds have grown since attracting more than 10,000 in their debut game against the Central Coast Mariners in round one, and dipping to 8075 in round five against Melbourne Heart, to average 12,610 in the regular season including effective full houses for the two derbies at Parramatta Stadium.
It's likely this year's final would have been taken to ANZ Stadium, but a double-header heavy metal concert at the venue was booked for the whole of next weekend.
Wanderers avg 12,000 in a finals first year. How will the west Sydney NRL clubs survive? Lol.
Best thing to do is kick Parra out and bring in Perth eh?
Has anyone told rothfield that the a league averages just 12k and the NRL is averaging 18.5k? That's 6000 more on average to every single game. Wtf is this douche on?

We also stopped taking our big games there becasue it only holds 45,000. Didnt the Melbourne Brisbane grand final get 80,000 in Sydney.
