What you got a picture of the furthest most distant corner of the stadium while its still filling up?

ANZ stadium upper tier is sold in three different categories at times. Once you have an understanding on how stadiums are sold, you would understand that that block of seats has not even been sold.

I also remember a 80k Origin 2 with the same corners vacant.

This photo below was from a 80,459 crowd and you can see the blue seats in those top corners - the last to sell - simple to understand.

:lol::lol::lol:

So I stop buying the Telecrap 12 months and they have the same garbage articles.

Our big games go to ANZ. I am no fan of RU but even the Belisloe would sell out Allianaz.

So hve they mentioned 52k for a club game? Or the 32k on Sat night? Hell even the much hyped GF qualifier was out drawn by Bulldogs v Roosters

Dude - Bledisloe cups attract massive crowds.

I note that most RU games are played on what I believe is a more user friendly fan day , namely Saturday!

I strongly believe that Saturday afternoons are being neglected by the NRL as a very good option for attracting a crowd to a game! It is essentially a more family friendly and more social timeslot as it leads into the Saturday night fun times!

I understand that punters love their races etc. but a lot of footy fans do not live and breath for punting on the geegees!
Something that should be seriously looked at as a genuine timeslot option.

After all, had that Wales union game not been staged on the Saturday afternoon I don't think it would have attracted a 40,000 crowd. Given that the SFS is very close to the nightlife of central Sydney it is a very attractive option to stage a game at this venue on a Saturday. I might add that most Union games are staged on a Saturday to capitalize on the "social" crowd! Otherwise RU crowds would be very poor(or reflect that code's ability in not attracting a genuine sports crowd) in comparison to other codes, especially RL.

Furthermore I note that in my town, that the local RU attracts many RL players(60-70%)to their playing ranks, purely because that code provides a player friendly playing timeslot of Saturday afternoons.

This is a major reason why local RL does not attract the players it should by the time they move from junior football to grade football in local comps!

How can Sunday night football replace Monday , when we already have Sunday night football?

And 6.30 on a Friday is way too early.

Sunday night football is not on every week.

You will find that it is on for 11 rounds of the season.
By simply taking away the Monday timeslot and giving it to the Sunday night timeslot will fix plenty of issues for clubs approaching the next round and having to sacrifice gates due to Monday fixtures.

I might add that the footy fan, in general, would rather have the footy all done by the end of the weekend! I notice that the AFL rarely have a Monday night fixture. This code does listen to its fans even though it prostitutes its very flimsy game to any and everywhere for relentless coverage on FTA and PayTV!

Yeah but RU support wise is well behind RL and AFL. Yet theyare too big for Allianaz yet these knobs bang on like a GF getting 40k is something never seen before. They can just piss off

And a serious look at Saturday afternoon games at 3.30pm/4pm,but for selected areas like the Gold Coast, North QLD , even Newcastle on non local race days etc.( 3 years ago the Gold Coast drew 23,000+ for a Warriors game at 3.30pm on a Sat.)

NQ would not be ideal a large amount of fans have to travel long distances (i.e. 400km plus on game day) so Sat night is the most ideal timeslot for home games.

Clearly the clubs dont like the 3pm Saturday game, and I dont think its anything to do with horse racing, more like Junior footy clashes and other stuff.

I understand that junior footy does clash, but I'm suggesting 4pm and not 3pm.And I don't believe that other clubs are "clearly" against Saturday afternoon footy. It's another option and as stated is very user friendly for fans.

Look at the crowds RU/AFL get purely because of the social networking/convenience value that Saturday timeslots provide. RL can capitalize on this as well?

The AFL use Saturday afternoon every week and that surely must show its worthiness as a timeslot option!

It has been said ad f*cking nauseum that AFL have the bulk of their junior gamnes on a Sunday arvo. Most juniour League is on Saturday arvo.

](*,)Saturday arvo NRL does not work! Which is why I suppose the powers that be got rid of it in the first place.

The powers that be reacted to a trend back in days a long time ago. As I have stated that other codes are reaping the benefits of Saturday football.

And you have incorrectly stated that AFL play mostly on Sundays. Most of the games in AFL playing states(Victoria) are on Saturdays! I'd say AFL may be played on a Sunday in NSW as they are trying to attract players from other codes that have already played their Saturday game.

The social aspect is a big one especially for RU.

RL can enjoy the "social" aspect as well.

And I disagree that local RL is played on mostly Saturdays. In my town over half the games are played on Sunday. This in itself is a problem for attracting juniors that go to grade/seniors as most of them are opting to play sports that play on Saturdays!

I'll admit when I played I could not stand playing on a Sunday purely because it ruined the best night of the week! Saturday! No wonder local league players head off to RU!

Once again, I am saying that their is a definite market out there for Saturday afternoon football at the NRL level. It's just selecting the right club to host that timeslot.

2 things why don't the NRL had a fan friendly day like saturday for SOO as you bet it will be a sell out as I find it quite embarrassing that the sports jewel in the crown can not sell out in Sydney with 2 games but a Soccer game will.
The other thing is saturday afternoon is good to put on Rugby League/Union games then what about the people who play local league on a saturday afternoon as they be missing out.

All warl games are played on a Saturday in Perth. Start 9am and go right through to 5pm. Saturday afternoon games certainly wouldn't work here.

Whats this Rugby schedule games on Sat afternoon stuff anyway?

I say the majority of games are evening matches (Fria and Sat night) But to be honest pay as much attention to Super Rugby as I do to Bunniesman's view on things.

I understand that not all clubs/areas will be suited for Saturday arvo footy, although the 5.30pm timeslot is proving to be very attractive for families.

I am saying that the NRL should target areas like the Gold Coast or wherever a Saturday afternoon crowd will turn up.

It's another option. It would be great if this game 4pm were shown on FTA but that is an argument for another day!

My point is that it is a useful timeslot and other codes are using Saturday arvo so why not RL?

Guarantee the FTA exposure(if it ever happened) would negate any 'brainwashing' effects of AFL FTA coverage into NSW & QLDs kids minds!

Something worth considering!
