The thing is though, 2 teams in Brisbane getting 25k would actually be better than 1 getting 35k. Getting averages up is great but doing so at the expense of total numbers is just stupid.

You ruin every thread you post in making it unreadable and 95% of users have to skip it.

Ever heard of multiquote? Then we dont have to skip 4 of your posts in a row.

Someone needs to put this merkin out of his misery

Happy to multi-quote.

As to ruining a thread, I take it just outright abusing someone is okay and adds to the discourse?

The crowd is 18,014. I'll just let the facts speak for themselves as opposed to calling you a clueless peckerhead.

You don't have a f**king clue

No, you were talking complete f**king shit so I ignored it.

Someone needs to put this merkin out of his misery

Basically, if someone sticks up for the Broncs instead of Sydney teams it's open season. Ditto a Perth expansion team.

If your crowd is shit in comparison to what it potentially could be in a one team town, it will will called on. And you will cry about it because you talk like you know things but you're nowhere near smart enough to figure out a shit Brisbane crowd will be of a bigger size than a shit Sydney crowd.

I will continue to point out that it is complete tripe for people to endlessly post that 30k+ crowds are somehow bad. I find that just as repetitive and annoying.

Round 5

Bulldogs V Manly- 20k
Titans V Broncos- 22k
Parra V Sharks- 11k
Cowboys V Panthers- 12k
Warriors V Souths- 15k
Dragons V Knights- 16k
Canberra V Roosters- 11k
Storm V Tigers- 11k

I hope the Storm, Canberra, Parra and cowboys proof me wrong but i think the above is realistic

Sadly, I wouldn't be surprised if some people wouldn't rather get rid of our best supported team and wallow in mediocrity instead.

You know you play Warriors or Titans you will have a weaker crowd. So the NRL have cheap tickets for these sort of games. Imagine Sunday's game through NRL.com or something anyone in say Dubbo/Orange area $5 tickets.

Next time a lower drawing team a different area gets the deal all clubs get the same and NRL pays the club for any lost money on the gate.. You want to make sure you have seats to every game get a membership.

I think 90% of people here want the bombers in. I think both teams can average 30-40k. It will be that every week not every fortnight. Assuming 75% of them don't go to every game there. Where are those people now?? That's the point from all teams getting casual fans to go regularly.

Do they?? imo it is the most plastic expansion bid we have seen yet. An Ipswich or Redcliffe based franchise is the go imo so it has identity.

The Penrith V Titans game would have been ideal in somewhere like Bathurst, its a league community so they will appreciate it more than sending it to the likes of Perth or Adelaide where there are maybe 10 fans of the clubs combined

Wasn't aware of this fact until now. But this year the first 4 rounds are ahead of every season since 2009! So much for the dwindling crowds commentary we have seen from various media outlets and other codes

I live in Brisbane and no one I have spoken to wants the Bombers, they are a carbon copy of the Broncos.

The Bombers f-ed up with their choice of name claiming it was chosen by fans

The Warriors are supported in Australia better than a lot of other clubs, my experience is Queensland and Melbourne and they draw supporters in those areas

As for the Bathurst thing. Given that everything is televised could be hard logistically.

Though ideas are better then just saying the crowds are shit. They were saying wont fix it.

Though when the draw was released you could say to both fans you have til this date to get your ticket or risk missing out.

You have a ticket you are less likely to say it's too cold etc Those in the bush have the draw can book trips & then they are told you have x amount from whatever game. They then get $5 tickets. Even the ANZ game had 30k seats left SFS 20k.

Ok Brisbane 2 & Perth seem the next 2.

Say that 2nd team brings 30k extra fans a fortnight great but where are they for Broncos games?

Could it be the same reasons we in Sydney speak off??

In all likely hood Bulldogs v Manly will be a good game. for whatever reasons it will only get 25k.

For me. I can't be stuffed put up with the Friday arvo traffic etc when I have watched 4 games in 4 weeks 3 of them 10mins from home. A 2nd Brisbane team gives them options which they don't know.

Dogs v Manly should be aiming for mid to high 20's given the recent rivalry. Granted 95% of them will have to be Dogs fans

You mean the richest, biggest, best supported club in the NRL? Yeh why would we want a carbon copy of that?

RL fans are so desperate to see live NRL here so pretty much any match up is guaranteed a 15k+ gate in Perth now. How many are going to turn up in Bathurst?

The team is plastic, at least the WCP bid is engaging with grassroots and the WARL to put a proper foundation in.

The Broncos destroyed the old BRL and the Bombers are hardly engaging with the public.

If the Bombers get the nod, don't expect to see this team average anymore than 25K for the first year and then it'll plummet after that.

There has been talk of the WC and a Brothers Combined team which are both engaged with the community more so than the BB and a positive vibe about them and genuine interest in these they bids.

Anyhow this is a 2013 crowd thread so I'll go with Titans v Broncos 23K, Dogs/Manly 26K for tomorrow night

Bombers are linking with some grass roots clubs aren't they? I want a club that is going to have the resources that is long term sustainable, can promote itself and can draw a crowd.

Yes the Bombers are trying to engage with grassroots but they are so far behind the WCP its not funny, considering Perth and Brisbane are the front runners.

The preference up here would be Western Brisbane first, followed but a non-existent bids in areas like Redcliffe. The Combined Brothers bid will most likely not happen but its as grassroots as they come.

Whatever Brisbane gets it'll draw regardless but if you want maximum crowds then you need to engage with grassroots and the community, its pretty basic stuff

Given the rain in Sydney and how Manly fans probably will not flock to the game by the bus load, I can see the Bulldogs game maxing 15k, Dry day and night and you will get 20-25k

Only 25K? 25K will be a great crowd, I'm thinking it'll get low 20's at best!! Barely any Manly fans will bother turning up... Weather has been awful all week (Although it looks a little better this morning).

Yeah it is but both teams will finish top 4. Both were Top 4 last year should be 40k but it wont. Though 13k at Parra and 15k at Kogarah means 50k will watch NRL in Sydney.

You live in Sydney you have 3 chances this week to watch a game. You don't need to go to every one. Doesn't mean you aren't a RL fan

We got lucky, no rain apparently today, but it will return tomorrow. Hopefully people come to the game cause it's an opportunity to enjoy the break from it.

I'd be happy with 20k. It's around our regular season average and we're essentially playing an out-of-town team when it comes to away support.

Considering we're 1-3 and still missing players (Eastwood also out apparently, on top of Kasiano, Inu & Graham)... anything more than 15k is a bonus to me.
