Agree, last night was brilliant at Penrith, but we cant grow to 20 thousand averages if we only can fit 19 thousand into a ground.
Marketing seems to be working better now. ?
Fantastic week, after getting over the Origin loss, it turns out that channel 9 has really improved it's coverage. I think last night was the best all year for a Friday night as in enjoyable coverage.
Having Evonne Samson along with the ex-league players seems to work really well.
They have been working well in Brisbane with Ray Hadley as well.

Finches joke about Timmy Manah needs to be put into the hall of fame for commentary.

Finchy: Hey guys its Tim Manah's Wedding Tomorrow, looks like his weekend is going from bad to worse...........................bammm......:lol::lol::lol:.

VOR - Broncos pax of now: 34,111

say 3k stadium don't show, 2k Broncos members don't show ( I understand you can't!).

Plus tickets today and tomorrow, crowd will probably be 34k.

Plus walk up slr could nudge it to 38/40k. This is Brisbane chance to show they want Sunday footy by having it be larger than the friday average it is possible. Lol@reds, burn bright for two seasons barely out drawing broncos by the smallest of margins to business as usual. Bandwagon Brisbane hop off the reds train.

great Penrith crowd, is the capacity reduced there since its 22k supposed.

If its a day like today we will be lucky getting a walkup of 200.

We are a bit behind the pre-sales of the Roosters game. (38k tickets sold to that match)

I really can't see 40k as possible. Level 7 isn't open, and I highly doubt they will open it (requires more staff and catering).

They may have to open Level 7 south this time tomorrow, if they do that, they might allow people into maroon 721 and 722.

Good crowd to watch a disgraceful Eels team plod around the park

Screwed up my FootTab ticket on the first night, how bad can the Eels get. It's like last year all over again. :sarcasm:

On another note, I wonder if these sorts of crowds could get much bigger on a night like this if the stadium could hold 30,000 people and had better facilities.

When Souths or the Bulldogs play out of ANZ and get 19,000 on any given night people will generally say that it's "OK" but nobody jumps out of their seats whereas we get 19000 at Penrith and people are doing cartwheels.

This is why ANZ/SFS will start holding more and more of these games from here on in.

Penrith wasn't full last night, there were empty seats dotted all over the eastern side, where I was. I suspect the club will be just mildly disappointed that 20,000 wasn't broken.

The record for this ground, AFAIK, is 22,300 in 2003 for the same teams. 22,000 was exceeded 3 times that season. The best marketing is a winning football team.

Showers are rain. It can be enough to put people off going. And plus it's Easts against Canberra. Expecting a smallish crowd. 14k

Crowd looks strange on tv, packed to the left of halfway (on tv) and empty to the right.

I know the chook pen is down there and that the entry gates are down that end meaning people are likely to walk in and sit that end...but I've never noticed it looking so obviously unbalanced

Looks a pretty shit crowd at the SFS, few more might come in I guess

We're talking about the cardboard cut outs here. Nothing unusual about that.
It's the Eastern Suburbs. They all follow the Waratahs, Swans and ESFC.
