Raiders should take a game back there or at least a trial. It's pretty run down but the field is still amazing and if the dogs can play trials at bel more then we should be sweet.

Slightly off topic but $50 a ticket to sit in the East Lower Terrace at Dairy Farmers Stadium. That's actually fairly pricey..

I would have thought tickets to Cowboys games would have been significantly cheaper. They do have GA for $16 which is fairly reasonable if sitting on the grass behind the dead ball line is your thing.

If you think Dairy Farmers is pricey, the Western grandstand of Skilled Park (Gold Coast) is up to $70.

56.5 k would be nice, 100k aggregate for two games at anz this week..

really doubt it will happen but if there is a large walk up from the easter show it might go close.

that would be bottom bowl full as well as 400s.

600s arent on sale yet so its nowhere near those numbers

Level 4 East will be a good 50% occupied by Tigers fans because of reciprocal rights so they have a chance but like you said they need a large walk up as well as a very large amount of ANZ stadium members to turn up on level 4 west too to hit 50,000

friday had a large walk up, based on pre sales it didnt look good.

the ends just kept filling up as 4 pm approached, so much that they delayed kick off. there were heaps of people lining up to buy tickets on the day

hopefully tomorrow does the same.

Though it would be nice to take a game back to Seiffert I can't see it happening, the place has been left to rot for almost 30 years now and it's literally falling apart.

Maybe if the Queanbeyan city council fix it up as has been suggested a few times recently, but until that happens (if it happens at all) I doubt the NRL team will play there ever again.

Unless they get scheduled to play a home match on the same day or night as the Super Rugby GF in Canberra:lol:

Here is the current poll results of a survey the SMH is running about the drop in crowd numbers. In my opinion you cannot put the drop in crowd figures down to one reason. To try and do so could lead to the wrong conclusion.

What surprises me in the results so far is the low figure the weather option had received. With the wet start to the season, especially here in Sydney I thought that would have ranked higher.

Poll: What is the main factor behind the drop in crowds in the NRL this year?
Over-priced tickets
29%
Standard of play
4%
Refereeing
22%
Fixed scheduling
2%
The weather
5%
Not enough matches at suburban grounds
9%
Too many matches at suburban grounds
0%
Food and beverage prices at stadiums
10%
Other sports more attractive
7%
Another reason
12%
Total votes: 4617.Poll closes in 7 days.

Get ticket prices right = and NRL, family deals are good but you need to remember there are a lot of people who are not families. Groups of friends, families with older children, etc are being ignored. Discount tickets for everyone and guess what, numbers will increase.

will they be running a poll on why crowds are up as the season progresses.

we are looking at over 20k average this round, another good round next week.

two out of the top 4 ticket categories unable to get more than 2 seats side by side, anything more is coming up as sold.

other two categories are selling right on the edges

looks solid.

45-50k after the walkup is taken in. Seems presales will be around 40k, then conservative walkup of 5k to push it past Friday.

The fact that from now on we will have 3 x 40k+ crowds in a fortnight is massive boon for the game in sydney. But we need to find way to involve manly, Cronulla and Penrith in big event type games otherwise they will get left behind. Queens birthday weekend is the next one to target with another annual Monday afternoon game.

Who do Penrith have a rivalry with though that they can exploit with a special game? They don't really care about Cronulla coming in at the same time, Canberra grand finals are so long ago and Canberra aren't a big draw, the other western clubs don't cut it, and Easts don't either - a grand final and signing a few star players.

For mine, pick a game with a celebratory theme (Cronulla - the first team, Canberra - the first premiers, Easts - the against the odds premiership), market it, showcase the old players, keep prices low and hope for the best.

we'll probably still be behind last year after next week unless this monday game draws a massive crowd along with a few sellouts next.

possible to finish above 2013 avg, but 16.5k is a big ask right now with the origin lull coming up.
