Yeah was disappointing but it is a low drawing game for some reason

Knights are meh. I don't expect the fans to travel either, ever.

They would all have to book two train/ bus/ plane tickets to transport their fat arses around.

Since the start of 2013 season the Broncos are the only ones to draw higher at home against Newcastle than what the Doggies got last night so they still got more than what most teams get against Newcastle

Yeh, the Knights arer the kind of team youd use for "Back To Belmore" or a Mackey game...

They arent enough of a draw on there own, so you use some other gimmick.

this will be the way all suburban grounds are used eventually; Leichhardt, Campbeltown, Parra, ect. will all be used as their own draw card...

Manly: 8,817. Unacceptable sub 10k crowd.

The rain has been heavy and persistant across the coast all morning and afternoon (showers my ass BoM). So I don't blame anybody for not wanting to sit in that.

Highlights the problems with brookvale, only 3000k covered seats is woeful in this day in age. I for one hope they secure the funding to get the grandstand a storied ground like that deserves.

Exactly, a good upgrade would see that at 11k easily.

Im guessing, the next time the Suburban vs Centralized stadium arguement comes up, the shitty crowds from today will be totally irrelevant....

Yes, the rain is keeping fans away from these games, but that is because its being played at these mud-pile fields.

If this was at a Etihad-style enclosed stadium then the rain would have no influence whatsoever.

But yeh, spiritual homes and all that shit....

Exactly, a good upgrade would see that at 11k easily.

The internet lacks tones so i have to ask....

You're being sarcastic, right??

With Michael chammas articles about stadia in the smh in mind you can't help but think how much the rain this year is damaging the balance sheets of clubs never mind the actual attendance figure. It hurts merchandise, food and drinks, ticket sales.....

Got to get out of these suburban shitholes and into modern facilities and if teams like manly don't get fans to travel then they can watch manly play NSW Cup games at Brookie. ANZ and SFS are the future and I don't see what the NRL are waiting for, waning them off these dumps is going to be painful whether it's today or in 5 years time, it's time for the ARLC to make the tough decisions for the future, that's what they are there for. The NSW government won't fork out the maintenance to keep these grounds alive so it's going to happen soon anyway.

Todays crowd at Brookvale was normal for a Manwhee vs Raiders clash there, even with better weather wouldn't have improved much at all

Manwhee are a disgrace

Manly for all there success average 13-15k throughout the past 7 years which is pretty bad considering the constant success should of seen bigger crowds. If Manly had a bad year, sub 10k is a definitive possibility.
