They fill the joint v the Warriors but get less than half for a match against arguably their biggest rivals?

WTF?

More vocal support for GC then what I remember years ago, when it was barely a home game vs the strong Sydney clubs.
Hopefully a lot of the damage done by Searle is lessening over time.
Really, I was there tonight as well and all you could see was Red and Green. When the titans scored it was practically silent while it was deafening when souths scored. Credit to Souths fans for making it a good atmosphere, best I've heard from an away team before.

Just can't see why this game couldn't get 18-20,000 for this match. Kudos for the Storm diehards but Victoria doesn't deserve a team like the Storm.

Don't the Storm have a bigger crowd average than half of the comp?

Seems a bit of a harsh call just based on one game held at the same time there was an AFL game right next door.

I'd say that there is the same amount of Storm fans at both games

But there's a lot more Kiwis in Melbourne than Manly fans.

Pink Ribbon game was at the MCG (38K give and take) at the same time (Demons vs WB). Pure insanity to schedule this game against that game.

Public holiday/anzac day as well as there being plentyof Kiwis in Melbourne
Exactly why last two rounds have given almost everyone a false impression where we are with crowds

Also the NRL need to know when to schedule games....

No AFL games in Melbourne tomorrow...and you schedule a Manly/Melb against an AFL special event game...sometimes the NRL doesn't help themselves! Why couldn't the match tomorrow and tonight be swapped around!

They have had more v manly in the past so was surprised at under 14k. Solid Saturday other than that.

Not expecting huge crowds today. Maybe 25k at anz and 15k at Newcastle. The knights never draw well v Penrith in recent years but Sunday arvo mght salvage it to something respectable like 18k

Considering the Manly/Storm game is one of the biggest rivalries in our code, 13 thousand is simply a poor poor effort.
If their was a reason now more than ever for expansion with another 2 new Brisbane teams, this crowd is it.
A rivarly between two teams in Brisbane would crack nearly 50 thousand.
Time for expansion into our heartland.
Manly and Storm cant and never will grow crowds.
13 thousand. ?? A trail game at Toowoomba had over 8 thousand in a city of only 120 thousand.

I flew down for the storm warriors game the other week and the crowd was probably 50/50 in support of both teams. Like someone said, last nights crowd probably had the same amount of storm fans at it but lacked the oppositions supporters presence.

The Storms crowds have been growing year on year, there bigger than half the NRLs other teams FFS.

This is LU, so it's not uncommon, but to make statements like that based on one game is bordering on mental insanity.(that statement applies to more posters in this thread also)

Ok fair enough. You did not address the fact that this is one of our codes biggest rivalries. ?
13 thousand. ?
If this same game was played in Brisbane, at Suncorp, last night, it would probably have got 30 thousand.

With the proper marketing ,,,, yes.
The problem with our code has always been marketing. It stinks, still does.
As someone mentioned, this game played while two AFL games were on in Melbourne at the same time last night, while today was free is why our code has always struggled.
I think they could sell the big 3 queensland players to a queensland audience who follow our code, ,,,so yes.
Didn't they get 20 odd thousand to a dogs storm trail game (at suncorp) early this year. ??
