With the Bulldogs winning, at least we're going to get two big crowds next week that will make up for the crap crowds so far this finals series

A total of about 71k is needed next week for this years total to be greater than 2013
Still a disappointing 6th best year on averages.

71k should be turning up for the Rabbitohs/Roosters game alone

Nevertheless, Panthers/Bulldogs will also get a big crowd

That means 3 straight years of significant increases in crowds in finals series.

You wouldn't know it the way people bitch and moan around here though

You probably couldn't pick a worse top 8 in terms of match ups and crowds, if broncos and cowboys position is reversed on the ladder we get a 52k crowd, if parra make it instead of Melbourne we get a eels v bulldogs final, if souths finish first and roosters fourth or vice versa we get another massive final. Just had bad luck with the teams with no support spoiling everything.

Agreed. Replace Manly/Penrith/Roosters with Dragons/Eels/West Tigers and things are looking dramatically better.

Crowds should be similar next weekend. Two massive supporter bases against two of the smallest. Both games will be 50k-60k.

It probably says something about the evenness of the competition where the biggest clubs haven't been as successful for a while.

Difference is it's a playoff for a spot in the big dance, what fan would want to miss that? Add to that the rivalry between souths and roosters and it should really break 65k, he said with no confidence...

Still not good enough.
Second week of finals. Two Sydney teams. Should sell out.
Sydney FC vs WSW - week 2 of the A-League (still 3 weeks away) sold 27 000 tickets in 3 days this week.

Too many teams, not enough fans.

Believe it or not, Manly fans contributed to a very good atmosphere at the ground. Shame there wasn't a bigger crowd, but the noise levels were high.

I thought the Mannnlllyyyy chant sounded good. Manly fans made plenty of noise despite being outnumbered.

It was funny watching those bays of Dogs fans on the eastern side look completely lifeless whenever Manly scored in the 2nd half.

What are they supposed to do? Cheer for Manly?

I could be wrong but it felt like 80% Bulldogs... Play this game At ANZ and the crowd would've been 15-20K more... I understand it was a Manly home game but FMD what a waste! Bulldogs V Manly at ANZ got 37K In 2012 for a round 1 final match.
