Roosters brought shit all support by the looks of it.

Thought it was a pretty good turnout by rooster fans - i think the free junior passes on L6 helped to push it over 50k
- overall its pretty crap, dont wanna hear about souths v roosters rivalry hype anymore - 76 years in the making and barely 50k

Doesn't matter. If the crowd was 900000 people here would still whinge. It was a great atmosphere which in a stadium notorious for being soulless is no small thing.

I suppose if you put it that way it doesn't seem so bad, but the hype ch9 and the papers have had over the last decade about these two teams, this is really disappointing. I knew it wouldn't get near the eels v doggies, but I expected at least 65k.

Probably, but apparently it is a massive failure. As usual the crowd watch thread favours hot air over historical statistics.

Yeah I agree mate, been built up over the past few years as the ultimate and the week it's about to be played, channel 9 and their news limited partners pump a sport (afl) and a club (Sydney Swans) like there is no tomorrow yet they do not and have not had the rights to show the game for years. f**k ch 9 must have some MORONS working for them.

Very unlikely but it will be in the top 3
A 50k crowd tomorrow means a crowd increase on last year of 30k or nearly 1%. Not spectacular but good considering the very bad start to the season and the tripe Murdoch press has been publishing.
