Yeah i was mate. You weren't - you were probably too busy watching futurama you deadshit.

How do you know I wasn't there? As part of your PhD in crowdology did you introduce yourself to everyone in the crowd? You're just a name dropper, noone with a dollop of intelligence believes your bullshit.

Id say most were neutrals at the 06 GF. Im sure there were plenty of Dogs fans.

When locky got the field goal to lead 15-8 i remember pretty much the complete lower bowl erupting, where i was i remember it being completely full of broncos supporters. Get on youtube or the vid on nrl, shows way more support for Brisbane.

You're trying a little bit too hard to nail a joke. Leave it.

PAX number for Manly game is now at 11k. It should grow a lot more when it goes on sale to the public. What is the Melbourne game up to now?

Were you at the 2006 grand final!!! IT was 79,609 or something very similar - i would say atleast 65,000- 70,000 were Broncos supporters. Heaps of flights are booking out on thursday night and this friday.

I think you will be surprised.

You have no idea mate. I was there and it was definitely a large majoirty of neutrals. Maybe 25-30kk Broncos supporters.

06 Grand Final - 79k. I'd say about 25k Broncos, 18-20k Storm, the rest neutrals (30k+).

No doubting there were more Broncos fans but they in no way made up the majority of the crowd.

Probably worth mentioning that most neutrals attending a Grand Final normally pick a side too, so the lower bowl would "erupt" regardless.

I was there in 06
I thought going in the Storm would have the crowd .... NSW'shmen being very anti Qld etc

they did not .... & it wasn't close
10K storm .... 40K Broncos ... 30K neutrals & most of them spread evenly between the 2 sides
quite amazing really

It was 6,000 when I picked up tickets at 10.30am yesterday - half an hour after going on sale.

nothing to do the weather, Qantas and Virgin are putting on extra flights for AFL fans here to get over to melb for next weekends finals game and our weather is nicer than yours, usually. Don't know why some NRL fans are less passionate and more happy to sit at home in front of the TV than some other codes, I am sure someone could write a phd on it! Tickets for Melbournes AFL games next weekend are $40-135 so price isn't the factor either.

Is 27 in Sydney warm enough for you? Isn't it 21 in Perth today?

The reason I watch it on TV is the ticket prices.

When I lived in Sydney 20 years ago there was one sure way to get tickets to the GF and it certainly increased the number of neutrals at the finals.
My club membership (panthers - which meant my team was often not in the finals) gave me the right to buy a package of tickets to all the finals including the GF. From memory the finals were virtually all at the SFS and having paid out for the tickets I went to all of them - if only to boo Manly or Newcastle. In the first weeks the crowds were relatively small at about 20K but there were large number of neutral fans.

I bought tickets around midday yesterday, pax number was just under 9000.
