So just because they are Queenslanders means they all give a f**k about Rugby League and are willing to pay $70 for a ticket? People who don't follow the sport aren't just going to turn up because it could be Lockyer's last game.

well I meant Qlders who do follow RL.:sarcasm:
the ones who turn up to SOO .... they won't care if its the Broncos
Qlders who may follow other clubs .... even Sydney clubs
they'll be there for Darren

its obvious you're feeling the pressure of potentially... technically being out numbered by an out of town sides fans
how embarrasing .... I'd doubt thats ever happened before
Manly to sink to new depths ... & Jokes about their supporters ;-)

You're out of your f**kin mind if you think that many donkey supporters will turn up

Way more then 2k you lunatic. I was at a parramatta v brisbane game a few years at parra and was shocked at the amount of queenslanders there.

Also origin 2 at anz there were 7,500 queenslanders in the supporter bay alone.

And everyone hates manly so im sure broncos will have bandwagoners.

Ill be suprised if 2,000 manly supporters use the free buses.

I just had a look on ticketek with my member AAN - broncos members (most likely based in brisbane) have almost sold out 1 bay of cat one, the cat 2 bay and one cat 3 bay. So thats probably almost 2k already. In comparison manly have sold 2.5 cat 1, 1cat 2 and 3cat 3.

In my opinion thats an embarrassment for manly.

There is no way that 15k Bronco supporters are living in Sydney, you are dreaming mate. The QF in 2008 when the Roosters V Broncos, the Rooster fans easily accounted for the Donkey fans 15 to 1.

Were you at the 2006 grand final!!! IT was 79,609 or something very similar - i would say atleast 65,000- 70,000 were Broncos supporters. Heaps of flights are booking out on thursday night and this friday.

I think you will be surprised.

nothing to do the weather, Qantas and Virgin are putting on extra flights for AFL fans here to get over to melb for next weekends finals game and our weather is nicer than yours, usually. Don't know why some NRL fans are less passionate and more happy to sit at home in front of the TV than some other codes, I am sure someone could write a phd on it! Tickets for Melbournes AFL games next weekend are $40-135 so price isn't the factor either.

And that's only Broncos ticketed members, who would be rare in Sydney. Imagine when tix become available for everyone...

My theory on AFL fans (which probably deserves a PhD):
No one in their right mind would enjoy such a lame sport but it has deep social meaning.
Its a bit like the southern Irish and hurling - no one actually enjoys it but by supporting it they are making a nationalistic statement. Southern Australians spent much of their history in an insular environment and they see AFL as a defining characteristic - to not support it is treason. People in the NE states have a more cosmopolitan history and RL is an international support - it does not define them. Ergo less go to the games but far more waych it on TV because it is a far more entertaining diversion.

People always forget that RL has to compete with RU.

AFL competes with AFL.
