That's all well and good for the first agreement, why sign up for a 2nd long term deal once the privatisation was already wel in place?
Because the SFS offer was so far away from the ANZ offer it isn't funny. If all things were equal we would be at SFS but it's a bit hard when they're not even in the ballpark.

BM the worst thing Souths can do is go back to the SFS. ANZ Stadium is so much more centrally located for Souths fans to get to. Like many Souths fans I live in the outer western suburbs of Sydney. It is a lot more convenient for me and others to get to ANZ. When I travel in by train its remarkable how many how many Souths fans are travelling with me. All from the western subiurbs.

When you think of how many night games we play, if we were playing at SFS it would be near impossible for me and many others to attend games. Especially those played on a Friday and Monday night.

I am a season ticket holder. If we were to move back to the SFS it would not be of value to me to remain so. I just would not be able to attend a lot of games. I would be a member of the club and just attend games where I can that are played on a Saturday or Sunday.

I've spent the last few days in Melbourne and have witnessed first-hand why the VFL's centralisation strategy works so well. Most of the suburbs represented by clubs are close to the CBD. And the two stadia are well-positioned near major train stations to help fans from the outer suburbs.

Compare this to Allianz which is a 15min uphill hike from Central. Not only that, but as some have mentioned, Sydney is a much larger city by area. Manly's far from Moore Park, ditto Cronulla. And Penrith's further still from ANZ.

The best scenario you're ever gonna get is Souths, Roosters, Parramatta, Wests, and Canterbury playing out of ANZ/Allianz with Penrith, Manly, Cronulla, and St George playing only 1-2 of their home matches in the big stadia.
a - there's buses right outside central you can jump straight onto
b - the walk up is great, nothing wrong with a bit of exercise/mini pub crawl

So the NRL can't average 20k because of Derpchardt and Derpvale even though both those grounds have a capcity of over 20k,kool logic Todd bro

Manly have barely broken a 15k avg in last few years despite success, capacity of brookvale isn't a problem, facilities are.

Nice crowd at GC, 17k for Cows/Broncos shock me I thought 20k minimum as even in the Cows worst days the derbies drew way higher but in content of two bottom teams facing each other it's pretty decent. Souths should be averaging 20k minimum next year per home game considering there on there best form in long time so show up no matter the opposition.

I think after a few season the numbers would pick up tbh. Plenty of people who used to be regular attendees to Manly matches before the ten year period of unmitigated bullshit (1995-2005) have gotten into the habit of going to Moore Park to watch the Aerial Ping Pong or the Waratards. It could be a good chance to re-engage with them, as I think the facilities at Brookvale, no matter how much we love the ground, are far too archaic for alot of the 'theatre goer' types that profess to follow Manly [ie-the 40-50,000 we find for a Grand Final).

If every NRL game was played like the warriors game we would have no problem getting a 20k avg! Very entertaining.

Coaches fault we don't have more games like that, they teach players to be robots with so much structure because they coach not to lose because there scared of losing there jobs, only a few teams like Warriors offload and play some razzle dazzle,Matt Elliot obviously gave up and just told the Warriors players to play however they want
