I think they have toppled 20k
Does not mean they are big...
Yet another side that has experienced a fantastic crowd when hosting us.
Easts, Canterbury, Manly, Brisbane, and now Gold Coast, with probably NQ and Melbourne to follow.
We have supporters everywhere.
Gold Coast, you're welcome.
People love to knock the "when Souths are doing well rugby league is doing well" thing but just look at our away crowds. Easily the best in the NRL right now. That's many hundreds of thousands of extra dollars in the coffers of all these clubs.
Gold Coast, you're welcome.

The way the cows started that game, I don't blame their fans for not showing up.
Apparently the Dragons-Tigpies game in round 24 has been shifted from Kogarah to the SCG (I'm on my phone, so couldn't be arsed hunting down an article). Strange move. Can't see the logic behind it at all.
Yeah, what with the comp looking at the worst average in half a decade or so, that makes perfect sense .
When Souths are doing well, Souths are doing well.
There's only one club capable of dragging the entire average up based on their form, and that is the Broncos...
And Newcastle maybe.

http://www.dailytelegraph.com.au/sp...his-grand-vision/story-fni3fbgz-1226686789526DR: Is one of your goals to implement a model used in the AFL, where every Sydney team either plays out of ANZ Stadium or Allianz, with less games played at suburban grounds?
TG: If you look at the game's strategic plan and they talk about averaging 20,000 a game by 2017 and 400,000 members, you can't do that if the current stadium policies are in place.
You can't do that playing as many games as we do at Leichhardt, Brookvale Oval.
DR: How soon before we see this change?
TG: I would say between two to four years you'll see a significant shift.
Don't get me wrong, I'm not calling for the death of suburban footy, I'd love to play a game a year at Belmore.
But, financially, any more than one game and it just wouldn't be viable

It's happening ladies and gentlemen. For the NRL to acheive its goals teams will have to move from suburban grounds. They'll either be moved with a carrot or a stick. It's upto them
But the quicker they get on board the more likely they are to get favourable deals with the major stadiums.
Canterbury, South Sydney and to a lesser degree, Wests, have shown themselves as visionaries.
It is time for Wests to continue their move towards playing in 1st class stadiums and for the rest of the Sydney clubs to get out of the way and just hop on board.
This is the future, dinosaurs may not like it but this is where rugby league in Sydney is headed.
