Only the Roosters would get criticised for attending an away game with a poor attendance.

Love the rational discussion this thread seems to promote.

According to the club, we're expecting a minimum of 80k for both games so maybe some transport clause was triggered.

I think it's 40k for a major event where the govt throws in free transport. Do GWS get major event status or do the AFL pay for the cost of the train ticket to Railcorp to give the 300 people that attend free travel?

I think SBW hype hasn't brought in the expected crowd's the NRL/Rooster's was hoping and the same goe's for the Waratah's with Folau.

Roosters crowds are up massively on 2012, so I'm sure they are happy with them.

When was the last time the Roosters were ranked top of the Sydney clubs for attendances this late in a season? 2004?

It was hardly an away game...

WTF?

Tigers home game, Tigers control the gate, no reciprocal rights, ALL Roosters members had to pay to get in.

How that's anything BUT an away game (which to their credit they attended in better numbers than the Tigers fans), is beyond me :?

The problem is Fox wants the best games for Monday night. Channel 9 want the best for Friday night. Friday nights have been wrecked by 9's poor selections. Monday night by location of games. These will exist still though ticket prices being fixed go a small way to fixing this

Friday nights have been wrecked? NRL smashes AFL most Fridays in the TV ratings.

pay for it. Or use Swans support and get it for the 'sport'

1 game of the 2 does some weeks. How many people stayed up to watch the wonderful Broncos v Parra game? How many people watched Parra v Tigers the other week? Or will watch Souths v Tigers next week? Even the Bulldogs v Panthers that was moved shouldn't of been Friday night.

that's not counting the terrible Sunday coverage Delayed is bad enough. Then they give us wonderful Melb v Parra when Can v Manly was available. All of this done a month ago so can't blame the fixed schedule

I honestly think channel 9 have picked badly on purpose to force the nrl into going back to rolling 6 weeks

Even the last 6 rounds have been picked badly , and they didn't have to pick them till rd 15

Spot on. I seen another article in the news ltd media by Lockyer whinging that fans are short changed by the fixed schedule! Well Darren as a paid up nine employee we expect that from you. Oh and there is Matty johns who never misses an opportunity to snipe at the fixed schedule.

The media in the country are woeful and wont check the facts. It's a ripple affect. Fox wants the best game on a Monday which I can understand. Though 75% of the Monday games this year should of been a Friday night game.

Sends a ripple affect as the games are played outside of the usual order affecting ratings and crowds. Thankfully they didn't f**k up The last 2 Souths home games

Because it was at the ground they've called home since the early 1990s.

Sure a fan has to pay for a ticket but you're going to the same place you've been to dozens of times before. Will Friday night really feel like an away game to you?

I hate Easts more than anyone but it is silly to blame them for a poor crowd at a Tigers home game. I don't care if it was played between the flags on Bondi Beach but it is not Easts members that get in for free. Any of them that showed up is a good thing but those that didn't should not be blamed for it being a small crowd.
