The Storm and Raiders can be forgiven for those numbers because they are expansion areas. The Eels can't, they are in western Sydney. Sharks? Well they need to do something.
That's gotta be one of the most dumbest quotes I have ever heard. So what if they are "expansion teams"? Canberra has been in the comp since 1982 and Melbourne since 1998. They have an NRL licence just like everyone else.
Melbourne and Canberra are one team towns so if anything their crowds should be MUCH bigger. Melbourne has a good excuse because their home ground is a sh!th*le but I expect their crowds to improve in a big way next year at the new stadium. Canberra has no excuse.
Parramatta's crowds reflect the way their team was playing the past year and a half. And it's not so much that they were losing but HOW the team was losing - with players showing no effort, passion and playing like a bunch of zombies thanks to Michael Hagan.
Parra's crowds reached a low ebb. Now that Daniel Anderson is putting his stamp on the team with some good form recently Parra's crowds will only get better. Parra fans can still follow a team that tries it's heart out and loses (and even better when they start winning) but their listless efforts are the cuse of the crowds drop.
