All good crowds but the Bulldogs crowd was a freebie ???????

Yeah freebies were given but who cares... Most would've paid!

The Bulldogs sold 90K worth of Merchandise on sunday alone at the game... The freebies paid for themselves :)

2009 Attendance (184 games) :: 2,937,813*
2009 Average :: 15,966

Stats obtained from: http://stats.rleague.com/rl/crowds/summary.html

We need 124,081 (average 15,511) to break the all-time record for aggregate attendance in a season set in 1995 (heaps more games played that year). See Total column in red:

Year Games Total ↑Ave.
1995 220 3061893 13918
2007 192 3024040 15750
2008 192 2993469 15591
2005 180 2964288 16468
2009 184 2937813 15966

We need to finish with a season aggregate of 3,072,000 to finish with a season average of an even 16,000 (or 134,187 for the final round at an average of 16,774). This would only be the 2nd time in history (after 2005) that the average has hit 16,000. See Average column in red:

Year Games Total Ave. ↑
2005 180 2964288 16468
2009 184 2937813 15966
2007 192 3024040 15750

i'm very disappointed that the knights lost to the raiders

week 1 of the finals could've been Dogs vs Eels @ ANZ.. a guaranteed 50k crowd

now it'll probably be Dogs vs Knights round 1... 30-35k

Kogarah near sell out.

Tickets are selling fast with around 1000 GA tickets remaining, fans looking to attend the match are encouraged to pre-purchase their tickets to avoid queuing and the prospect of missing out.
Please be advised that due to venue capacity constraints, NRL (Yellow Passes), Club Junior Passes and NRL match passes cannot be accepted for this match. The conditions of entry for these passes specify that entry is subject to venue capacity. See back of pass for card entry conditions.

I think we are capable of getting that 134k or so needed to crack the 16k average.

There will be a few big crowds (Kogarah, SFS, Suncorp) and hopefully the rest can get bigger crowds then expected and we can break that 16k barrier.

Kogarah?

Traditional suburban football crowd on Jubilee Avenue, Carlton. You might know it by its sponsored corporate name of WIN Jubilee Oval.

Owned by Kogarah Council and leased/operated by the St George Leagues Club, this venue has recently had approximately $15m worth of redevelopments.

With a capacity of approximately 20-21k, the ground has sold out numerous times this season. Indeed, it sold out last night, three days before kickoff, for the final St George Illawarra home game of the season.

Given that capacity is above the existing crowd average and the crowd average desired by Byrd this ground is guaranteed to help in achieving his desired result.

Capacity of 20-21k? Um, they revised that down if I'm not mistaken, after concerns at the Sharks game.

The official crowd for that Sharks game was 21k. I included the lower capacity of 20k to accomodate the reduction.

The papers are talking about the ground having a capacity of 18.5k. That seems too low. The Dogs crowd was 18.5k but I suspect that was overdoing it a bit due to security concerns.

Hopefully Friday is a clear night and we get a good indication what the true working capacity of the ground (at least in terms of what they're happy to accomodate at the moment).
