Quick glance at prices:

Gold Coast tonight v Tigers @ Skilled:
Category - Adult - Concession - Child (up to 12yrs) - Family (1A 1C) - Family (2A 2C)
Titanium $55 $46 $32 $76 $152
Gold $42 $35 $25 $58 $116
Steel $29 $21 $17 $40 $80
Legion (unreserved) $29 $21 $17 $40 $80

http://www.titans.com.au/default.aspx?s=ticketing

The cheapest adult ticket is $29. Ridiculous.

Brisbane next Sunday v Raiders @ Suncorp:
Gold
Adult $47.00, Family (1A 1C) $63.00, Child (4-12) $24.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $38.00
Maroon
Adult $40.00, Family (1A 1C) $53.00, Child (4-12) $21.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $33.00
Blue
Adult $34.00, Family (1A 1C) $42.00, Child (4-12) $15.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $27.00
White
Adult $27.00, Family (1A 1C) $32.00, Child (4-12) $10.00, Pensioner, FT Student, Senior $19.00

Suncorp ain't much better but at least you can get a kid in under 20 bucks...

Wasn't there another, cheaper category at Skilled called 'Sand'? The corner seats used to be the cheapest but they've apparently converted them to Steel. My membership is a Sand membership so I'm not sure when they changed it or wether it's just a membership category.

Huge crowd, although somewhat artificial given all the free tickets that were sent away

Im sure plenty of people who got in for free spent money on food and drink so there was still money to be made.

Also it doesn't matter how the crowd is made that big it still creates the same atmosphere. Im sure the people at the ground were left with a great impression and it looked fantastic on tv. That is the perfect advertisement for the NRL.

The thing that is so impressive is this was against the warriors. Surely there would of been 20K or less without this promotion.

Good on the dogs.

Amazingly despite the freebies, the Bulldogs sold more tickets to this game than to any other match they had in 2009.

The take up from NRL Club Members was acctually a little disappointing , only a few thousand. Great work by the Bulldogs, the fact they made it into an event prompted people to get out there and to buy tickets.

unbelievable crowd and unbelievable atmosphere...the mexican wave went around the ground at least 5 times. Great day for rugby league in Sydney to witness that.

Roosters to honour Fitzgibbon next Sunday

NRL Sun, 30 Aug 2009 16:13:00
This Sunday at the Sydney Football Stadium, the Sydney Roosters say goodbye to four of their players, including one of the gentlemen of the game, Craig Fitzgibbon.

In recognition of the contribution of these four players, in particular, Fitzgibbon, the Roosters have put into place a number of offers to help give ensure this event gets the turn out it deserves.

First off, for all Sydney Roosters ticketed members, they are entitled to bring a friend into the match for FREE! To do this, all the need to do is register their friends details, and they will be sent out a complementary General Admission ticket! To find out more about this offer, click here.

Secondly, all kids under 16 are entitled to FREE entry to the Sydney Football Stadium! To qualify for the free entry, simply download your free kids ticket here.

Finally, in honour of the great man himself, the Roosters are encouraging all fans to go bald for the final game to help support Craig, and as well raise money for the Leukaemia Foundation. To find out more about this initiative, click here.

90-93% of the crowd were bulldogs though, i'm pretty sure 'free' tickets were only given away to members.. and at the ground, i couldn't see many from other teams

Just got back form ANZ, what an awesome day and a terrific atmosphere throughout the game. That is what the NRL deserves, to be played in front of crowds like that and everyone out there enjoyed it, we started up the mexican wave and it went around about 5-6 times (which was pretty funny lol).

Great work by the club and about 90% of the crowd were bulldog fans, i saw about 10 warriors jerseys and a few random jerseys here and there but what a great day and running onto the field afterwards was great to be apart of, should be more of it.

it had the same feeling as being sold out because everyone was jammed in the one level and close together building the atmosphere up. Needs at least 30k though for that and its even better with 40k.

you watch CT, the NRL will trot out the expected line "the Dragons have earned their right to be hosting this finals game at Kograh, it is too late now to change the hosting ground as corporate boxes have been organised, blah blah blah"

I can guarantee that if the game is at Kograh, there would be about 15-20k fans of the dragons (let alone the thousands of Eels fans) that will be p!ssed because they will be forced to watch it on TV because the game is going to be held at a ground that is far under the capacity that is required for such a blockbuster event.

I have been to Oki once, and absolutely loved it. The fans were awesome, the tradition in the ground, I absolutely enjoyed the experience.

But common sense has to prevail. If Parra and St George play in week 1 of the finals, it needs to be at a larger venue (SFS, ANZ) Hell Moore Park is not that far from Kograh, it's not like they would be playing the game all that far away from their home base.

I know the Dragons deserve the right to have a home ground advantage, but surely enabling a lot more of their own fans the chance to come along and support them, yes the Eels are a well supported club and there will be thousands of their own fans attending the game at the larger venue, but the atmosphere generated would be electric. The Dragons may even perform at a higher standard when faced with an even larger crowd with that type of atmosphere presented to them, thus negating that lack of a 'real' home ground advantage. Just my thoughts.
