Newcastle crowd is low because they basically don't have a western grandstand, hence why the camera angle is a little different on the tv.

Any reasons for the knights crowd? By the knights standard that is appalling.

Looked a lot more at the ground.

Easter? I suspect most people are with their family rather than watching footy. I was actually surprised Brookvale got a good turn out, Easter + Manlys terrible form. If Stewart wasn't have playing I reckon you could nearly cut that crowd in half.

Been an okay round for crowds but the cowboys and knights were a bit disappointing.

I think its been better than OK. It has been good in Sydney. Eels, Roos and Sea Eagles take a bow. Sharks disappointing but they were playing out of town opposition.

On the Dogs V Rabbits don't get too excited about 30,000. 30K is unusual. Frankly anything over 26/27,000 will be good.

Good round for crowds really, except for you know who again. But geez the average really take a beating when the broncs dont play at home.

yeah i reckon about 19-20k for the dogs soufs game too.

apparently the crowd at manly is close to 20k...2gb.
what a surprising weekend!!
dissapointed by the qld crowd
18,000 in a small provincial city isn't disapointing. It could have been a little more but it's still a good crowd.

it was pi$$ing down with rain up here all day on saturday, stopped about 3pm. Then pi$$ed down again at half time.

Throw in the fact it's easter and people tend to go away for a few days, and we are playing like a$$ at the moment, I think it was a decent enough crowd. Apparently not for people in here.........................

I have heard from some season ticket holders in Newcastle that due to the Western stand not being available the club has changed a lot of the seat allocations to the Eastern stand. This has not gone down well with many STH's and they have not renewed for this year.. Current capacity is only about 18k i reckon

Small consolation, it was a mere 2,555 more, in supposed heartland with one of the most popular clubs in the game.

Surely your excuses for Parra can apply for Cronulla also?

Besides my point is stop beating up on clubs.

Alot of people calling for Cronulla's head would be the same who only a few years ago wanted Souths punted, now look at them.

Hey don't get me wrong I hope Cronulla's crowds pick up. I just think their 3 home crowds of 10,000, 11,000, and 8,500 just isn't up to scratch. They had a good excuse for the first game as it was ppissing down raining but they got less for the Raiders game in fine weather. The Sharks are dragging the chain at the moment.

People from the Shire are pretty parochial so hopefully they can get out and support their team.

That's not what people were saying about them back then. But a level head would tell you that things would turn around around for them, the same as with the Sharks.
Moving teams to Adelaide, like that city is the saviour of the game is completely unfounded.
This year Cronulla provide 12 players to the NRL, SA wouldn't have supplied this many in 20 years.

Sport goes in cycles Cronulla will rise again.

Have we forgotten their plans to secure their future:

Grand plan ... the development.

Unfortunately their stadium in that picture still looks like the crap ground they have at the moment. The problem with Shark Park is that it's situated right next to Botany Bay and is prone to strong winds and when it rains it really makes it an miserable place to go to. The ground needs to be turned into an enclosed stadium so it will accomodate fans in comfort regardless of the weather.

But yes the rest of those plans look pretty good.

Pissing down rain here now at the moment, hopefully it just rains now and holds off for tonight but it will keep the crowd down, very annoying!!!

What is the crowd expectation for Doggies v Souffs with no rain?
honestly if it didnt rain the minimum would of been about 27k or so, even pushing the 30k mark. But now who knows cause it is pissing down but if it eases up leading into the game then hopefully it can pass reach low to mid 20's. But im expecting about 19-21k now.
