That crowd at the Storm was the worst for the year Tim becos of the atrocious weather conditions....you know the stadium (OP) is absolute garbage with virtually no shelter....take a look see at the afl crowd at the MCG earlier in the day, was pathetic also....playing in a wonderful stadium with great facilties, but against a a team from interstate., but their game wasn't live against the gate like the storms.

DFS is in q'ld. where its at least a lot warmer..dumbcluck:D
I was having a go at everyone else, not Melbourne. The fact that 9,000 is now a poor crowd for Melbourne is a good sign, it used to be above average.
Yes, broadcasting images of near empty stadiums is a great way to promote the game.
Telling thousands of fans "your club is no longer and we don't care" is hardly a good way to go.

I'm not saying that the Broncos would intentionally sabotage a new team (as they have done in the past) but they wouldn't play nice.

All I am saying is that most of the Gen-Y in Brisbane are Broncos supporters, its been a while since the BRL/Broncos fiasco and while there is still a large amount of people still with a dirty taste in their mouths the new fans don't care about the past and are all Broncos.

If a new Brisbane team were to come in in the near future it would be like a Newcastle - Mariners situation. If we're going to bring new teams in it should be on the basis that these teams can reach the heights of the Broncos, I think a new Brisbane team has left its run too late with the next-gen fans already making their choice. All you need to do is look at the ratings and attendances plus quiz the next early20 y.o in Brisbane to reach that conclusion.

Logan on face value has a 50-30-20 (Titans-Broncos-Warriors) split. I think the next Qld team should either be the CQ Bid or a Sunshine Coast team.

Proof?

As I said, I judge Logan on face value...which implies its from my own experiences.

And as I said, have a look at the Broncos ratings and attendances. Broncos averaging 30k and getting 400k audiences. Add to the fact that they saturate the market with Broncos advertising...you tell me how the Broncos dont have a strangle hold on the Brisbane public.

Logan is Tits town. Go down there and see. I lived there when the Titans came in. They really embraced the side.

The Storm are quite popular down Crestmead/Waterford way too. I think that's because half the side comes from around there.

Because not everyone is Brisbane are Broncos fans and don't want to be. Otherwise we would be getting 50k every week. Broncos just manged to get 30k against the Warriors and half the crowd were wearing black. Would you rather have one team average 35k or two teams average 30k?

People will claim they Broncos fans but how many games do they go to a season? We are a league city, to think the size of it can only hold 1 team is ridiculous. We had 10 BRL teams in 1987. 1 more team playing at Lang Park = 12 more games at the best ground in the world = 2 more more between Broncs and new team. More rivalry, kill off the Reds and Lions.

Its a no brainer - I'd rather have 2 teams having30k averages.

I'm just saying in my personal opinion that it can't happen.

Also - Panthers/Eels 16,845

I have been to almost every game at Penrith since 1995 and i can tell you there was alot more than 16,800 there. Crowd was very close to 20K IMO.

i thought the same, I thought it would have been in the 18-19k mark from the looks of the TV.

I was there today, and for starters it only holds 17K, and there were a few gaps on the corners of the grandstands, and gaps on both hills, so i cant see 18-19k, ive been there when there was 17k and it was packed, it wasnt like that today, But still good to see a big crowd out there, and good to see the parra fans come out as well.

Most migrants live in the western suburbs where league rules. It's in the yuppified inner city/north shore where league is struggling.

How many of your 2nd generation (or people born in this country) friends live in the inner city of Sydney?

The city and it's surrounding suburbs are full of migrants and good luck to them, if I moved from a city like Tokyo and could afford to be in the city I sure would be.

The demographics of Sydney are not what they once were, and until they allocate most games for day footy, crowds will always struggle.

Traffic alone in Sydney is enough to put most people off, and this is where ANZ is a better positioned to take advantage of this, but the stadium itself doesn't suit footy all that well.

If the SFS was built further west you would see improved crowds.

It holds more than 17k, i was at the eels panthers game in 03 and there was about 22k at that game. I think with the new rennos and so forth, it holds closer to 21k these days, could be wrong though.
