That's why I f'n hate Dugan playing fullback. Not because he not dangerous from the back, not because he is not strong in defence, not because he's not safe under the high ball.
But because he turns and twist his body all over the place when he is competing for the ball. You have to hold your breath every time!

Some quick thoughts.

* Aitken impressive
* Nielsen, Farrell not great. Eto should get first look at wing come Round 1
* Peter M must play exclusively on the left, due left arm carry
* Friz looks set for a massive year
* L'estrange got the points comfortably over Rein
* Refs are still rubbish. Put as many as you like on there.

Agree with everything stated Dragon05. Gareth was solid.

Agree with most of the previous blogs
thought Marketo was strong in defence
Nabouli is going to be a real fan fave with dragons fans
Aiken looks all class
Thompson Frizell Lestrange look set for big years
Overall our forwards were solid in defence with some real sting in some hits
Closing and finishing off the tight games will be something that Mary will need to address , but i think he will come away from that effort rather pleased.
Even Georgeous George made a decent contribution

THEDuges just tweeted that there was a bit of a scare for him but nothing serious.

I was at the game, main points:
- Aitken needs to start at right centre, looks the goods
- farrel looks to have put on at least 5kg. I thought he was ok on that right wing, made some important runs
- Neilson was quiet.
- Nabuli, glymin and matatuia all had a decent crack
- looked more organised with le'strange on the park
- frizz is a machine
- out of the fringe forwards, nutira and o'brien were the best
- rose had a decent amount of game time
- the kicking game was ok
all in all, we looked to control the game easily and were unlucky not to win, although Souths sure had a lot of beef sitting on the sidelines.

Just home from the game. Vast improvement on last year under Price. Nabuli has to start on the wing, he is huge. Much better ball handling and less stupid penalties. Loved the way Benji changed the side they were attacking. Rose a must on the bench also. All in all I thought they were pretty good.

At game tonire as well - waft a shit stadium to watch footy! They Shoukd b playing this game one year at Kogarah next year at Redfern!

My observations..
- Marshall brilliant first half- he really missed Dugan at centre someone to aim at in attack. Still the odd mistake that actually costs points have to stop.
- Neilsen a bit lost..
- Aitken is a gun
- Farell big game could end up at centre instead of Neilsen because u can't ignore Nabuli
- Widdup is a bit overawed by benji I think.. He has to start taking initiatives like Benji on the either side of the ruck
- Frizell was AWESOME big hits, strong runs and a lot of aggro
- Thompson also strong in patches
- George Rose tried his heart out - I think
He really wants to prove people wrong
- Rein is useless L Estrange is miles ahead w Keating to come
- Ah Mau must not see first grade again
- we are a big dominating prop short!
