Michelle Bridges is charged with DUI while driving with a child in her car.

Curtis Scott was woken from a drunken sleep by cops and lashed out.

Both crimes are stupid. Yet...

The Daily Telegraph reporting on both - Michelle deserves “empathy”, Curtis Scott risks being/should be rubbed out of the game.

Whose crime was worse....

Well one of these people put a child’s life at risk, and those of the other motorists while driving under the influence of alcohol... The other was a risk to trained police after waking him from a drunken stupor.

Yet one deserved our empathy, one deserves to be stood down indefinitely from his job..

Ones a media darling, the others an NRL player horses for courses. TBF she has also put out a statement on how embarrassed and devastated she is by her actions, Curtis has said.............

Also a lot rests with the Raiders. They could sack him on the spot. But they haven't, like they didn't with Wighton. They seem to like dragging their feet, unless they are sitting in the passenger seat of their own car.

Other clubs have been first movers: Barba by Cowboys, Carney by Sharks (ended up costing us)

A little context goes a long way. Barba and Carney had both used up their last chances, but still couldn't change their behaviour. Cowboys and Sharks took a massive risk on them and it backfired.

Curtis was a risk, but still his first offence. Wighton was a first offence too - he (touch wood) has made promises, which so far he has kept and it may have gone some way to improving his on field performance and hopefully that is motivation enough for him to never be a boofhead again.

The Raiders don't need to be on the front foot sacking either player. Maybe the club learnt it's lesson from sacking players quickly in the past - to do the right thing - and then sit back and watch the NRL approve them signing at other clubs.

Maybe they have just learnt from recent history that sacking players just ends up biting them in the butt because the NRL doesn't back up teams that do the right thing. They just allow said players to sign a fat contract with a Sydney team and become the media's latest redemption story.

Sounds like he was dreaming about the viking clap when he was woken from his drunken stupor and just carried on, accidently collecting the nice policeman in the process.

Step 1- Plead not guilty

Step 2- Drag it out until next off season and keep playing.

Step 3 - Plead out during beginning of off season so everyone’s forgotten.

Dunno if it will work as a stalling tactic. Toddles will ask to see the cctv and bodycam footage and base any ban off that. Thats what they did with Wighton.

Lawyers either got them on a technicality or is leading Scott up the garden path for a payday.

Who is allowed to obtain a copy of this?

Exactly. I don’t know why they’d sack anyone until absolutely necessary.

And if they jump the gun they’ll get porked like Cronulla did with the Carney sacking.

“They didn’t let me tell them why I drank my own piss!!!!”

Policewoman it was, if you read today's paper. This might turn the tables a bit. He allegedly snotted a chick.

I'll be interested to hear how Police, having received a report of a missile thrown at traffic and then found an unconscious individual, presumably heavily intoxicated, in the vicinity, were not within their bounds of responsibility to attempt to wake him up.

They didn't ban Wighton until after he was found guilty. There was no NFSD policy at that time.

It seems a bit out of whack for the NRL to view footage of a matter before the courts in order to determine whether they think the player is guilty or not. An NRL kangaroo court. I suspect they won't be allowed to do this. The premise of the NFSD was that they made no assumption of guilt.
