I'm somewhat embarrassed for the bloke that you had to explain it.
Perhaps next time you could use sock puppets??
Paging Alien20....

It's actually not a set number of points. It's that they cant get any points from games they have been over the cap this year, ie every game they have played. So they won 6 games, so it's 12 points gone
Paging Alien20....
Which begs the question
How did he get regestered by the NRL if they were over the cap ?
It's going to be hard. Even if it takes them a month to sort out their cap and get under, that means that will be 3 maybe 4 games they can't earn points in. That leaves them with 11 or 12 games (plus 2 byes) to get to 28 points which may be the cut off.
They will be under the cap by their next game, particularly if they offer up a couple of big names.
They will need to anyway, as an average player won't attract any interest.
When a player leaves a club mid-contract, the club usually pays some of his contract.
They might have to shed $570k but in reality, it might be closer to a million...the year has 1/3 passed.

Also the other sponsors/suppliers companies falsifying invoices etc, they will face some tough questions as well I'm sure. ATO will be looking on with keen interest.
Did you actually read what happened in NQ you dimwit?
The fact the story died in the ass immediately after it's release once it was ascertained the amount the players paid for the land was exactly the markey value for that area. The stupid bitch who 'broke the news' thought them paying $460k for a house and land package was paying well unders and thought something dodge was going on...... Well it would be well unders if it was in Sydney ffs.
Shedding the players to get under the cap is going to be next to impossible , unless they let a big name go (Foran)
So there's a reasonable punishment right there. Either they let go a big name or they don't play for points for the rest of the season.
If they don't lose a big name mid season they're going to lose one for next year. Norman would seem likely as he's off contract.
Thanks, now how much will you pay for the bridge
We all know players and the real story, of course you can afford your roster. As can the Broncos, Bulldogs, Roosters etc, all above board and not a dodgy zTPA anywhere
All clubs should have an emperor, that's only fair
Do you really think Twatmough won't be announcing his retirement in the next week?
The NRL knew this would happen so have put a Clayton's punishment on the end of the pissy 12 points to make it seem as though is hardline.
It is a completely pointless and futile part of the punishment put there for face saving only.
Channel Nein probably came up with that gem.
Twatmough retires and they are then UNDER the cap...:crazy:
