Dally M Winger of the Year

Uate also has most errors and lets be honest, some of those errors have been down right comical.

Yet you voted for Vatuvei who has averaged more errors per game than Uate...

Poor defender too.

It's not 2009 anymore. Uate's defence is pretty decent these days, certainly no worse than 80% of other wingers in the competition.

He isn't a poor defender, just not great.

IMO Uate by a long shot. B Morris shouldn't get it purely based on his origin performances

Of course Knights fans are going to say Uate. He has been good though. Im not sure Manu has played enough of the season to get it. Gordon has been pretty good.

there is no way Uate won't win this award. he has been the best by a massive distance. what a season... and the best part is it's still not over for another 5 weeks!

He still ranks right up there as one of the worst defenders. He's by no means terrible, just a noticeable flaw.

Difference is in terms of errors Uate has made some dead set shockers. Stuff that isn't even acceptable in Toyota Cup.

Also stats. won't be able to show up instances like the Cowboys game where Uate allowed a kick to get past him and then get beaten by said kicker who had to make a good 20m to get to the ball.

Good player and a definite contender but I can see how others wouldn't consider him.

Edit: And on a more serious note, this year Aku has reduced his errors, improved his defence and ability under the high ball greatly - yes, he still makes some poor reads and errors, but I have watched a number of Kevin Gordon's matches this year, and boy his defence is terrible! It made me realise that Aku isn't exactly far away from your average NRL winger in terms of footy basics. Many of us Knights fans are critical of Aku's junior mistakes at times, but they are rapidly decreasing by the week.

Like I said, I wouldn't be upset about Uate getting it, I just see him as having "wow" moments and then a lot of "meh" moments.

I think he is an electrifying attacking player, but IMO he isn't an all-round winger...not saying he wont be, because he is still very young, but at the moment he still has a lot of improvement in his game.

He will get better, as he gets more confident. But he is not a defensive liability like he was last year. When Vuna and Uate are on the wings, Uate is the safe one. I wouldn't have dreamed that last year.

He is leading the try tally for wingers by 4, and is set to record the most linebreaks in a regular season for a winger since last century...and all in an absolute stinker of a team.

He scores a mountain of tries and linebreaks, but he also does a lot of tough work carting the ball up when our forwards shirk the job every week. That's why he's the leading metre-gainer for wingers.

There's been very little to cheer about as a Knights fan this year, but this bloke makes you want to watch every game.

If he was playing for a top 4 side he would have more than 30 tries for the year by the end of it.

Yep, Uate easily. Won't win the award though.

Uate and Manu in a close one. I guess the next 5 rounds will decide it.

As a Penrith fan i will definitely have Michael Gordon in the top 5.

If it's the same one I'm thinking of, he didn't "allow" the ball to get past him. He got a horrible bounce and then slipped over ...

Uate or big Manu but based on the whole season id have to give it to Uate.

jesus... i'm one of his harshest critics with his defence and i still think he's been the best winger by a long stretch this season. look at the sheer weight of statistics he is leading in (not just leading, but absolutely dominating in line breaks, tries scored, etc). his defensive woes have decreased dramatically this year... and he's made no more clangers than your average NRL winger in defence for at least the second half of this year. he just keeps getting better and better and better. to nitpick him on a few that he has made here and there completely flies in the face of the mountain of amazing work he does each and every game. he carries the knights in go-forward as well... and somewhat makes up for our pathetic forward pack at times.

to do what he has done in the team he is playing in is nothing short of phenomenal. he's the real deal, and he will win this award standing on his head.

Uate without a doubt. He's not as complete as some other wingers, but what he does have more then compensates for what he lacks. He's a freak of nature.
