Darius Boyd... Why?

I don't get it.

Why is Boyd in the Aussie team? He has played mostly fullback and centre at Dragons and hasn't done anything special IMO. Solid but there's a heap of wingers who are specialists who should have been there ahead of him, especially since Boyd is carrying an injury. Monaghan has also been playing centre but he is the incumbent

What is so special about this guy anyway?

He's a myth! Overrated!!

He's also a (squad) incumbent and has been in better form than Monaghan or Williams. I think he still leads the league in tackle breaks despite not playing last weekend

He's the incumbent, which means a lot at this time of the year. I also think he has been in great form at the Dragons

Was not this good at the Broncos. But i will give him is due...in 2009 he has been very very good.
Does not give up in tackles and has put on some size

played a lot of wing for brisbane and played on the wing for qld and australia.

is great form this year and has really stepped up since being at the dragons. he deserves his position and i hope he passes the medical

I think there is more than one question we should be asking the selectors

Because the selectors decided to break with tradition and pick someone on current form.

They have to pick someone. Why not someone who is playing great football?

i agree. when he was at the broncos i thought he was an average player made to look good by the players inside him.

this year i think he has been fantastic, he has definitely bulked up and fully deserves his spot in the team.

He's been outstanding... which has surprised me actually. I always thought he was a decent/good winger and nothing more (sort of like David Williams, Michael Gordon etc) but he's been great at FB. If he was even mentioned in terms of a Test jersey last year I'd be laughing, but he's earned it this year IMO.

He's been going well but that's from fullback. They probably could of gone with a regular club 3/4 but I don't think it will matter. I see us f*ckin him up on friday night.

He's in there because he's an outside back playing for a winning side. Let's remember Shannon Hegarty somehow managed to play for Australia too.

Not true the incumbents are Monaghan and Williams.

Monaghan is clearly unlucky here. I blame his ranga looks.
