When Coops tackled him, why didn't he get up?

I think Boyd is a great fullback but I can't hack how soft he is... He isn't even soft... When he wants to he hits the ball up a thousand miles and hour. cutie style. Doesn't really do it any more...

I think Boyd is also struggling from not having Gagai in the side. At full strength I think we'll see the Boyd of old but today I thought he was being a big sook. Played well though. Good try.

TBH I'm amazed at how much criticism Boyd is getting after today's game. He was a bit hesitant in places but all in all was far from our worst problem out there today. He was great with ball in hand during the few attacking opportunities we got.

It's a fair call that he does things which get up the nose of supporters of other teams such as the Cooper lie-down, and if I wasn't a Knights supporter I'd probably feel the same way a lot of the time. But maybe he was legitimately a bit stunned by the tackle, we don't know.

He is good for that sort of thing 2-3 times at least every game. Did it in the first half when we were trying to work the ball out of our 20m- could have used a nice quick play the ball, but instead he lays on his back looking at the ref waiting for him to blow the whistle. Doesn't happen and the Dragons have a good 5 or so seconds extra to set their defensive line.

I'm amazed that Bennett hasn't gotten into his ear about it and stamped it out of his game over the years.

Boyd wasn't the issue today, he offers more in attack than Gids even did.

It's just not his game to run 100 mph back into the defensive line.

Best option we have by miles.

Yeah Darius is weird.

Even though he won us a Premiership, he never felt like one of "my" players (if you know what I mean).

He is also head and shoulders above any former player from the 'Bennett era' that our fans love to hate.

Strange fellow this Darius...

Not hating on him per se... What's up with him staying down all the time when we need a fast play of the ball?

He's constantly been playing it fast for us, nearly every set he takes a scoot from dummy half, makes big metres and plays it straight away. It's been his biggest strength so far this year imo. And when he does try milk a penalty he doesn't usually stay down anyway, he just takes his sweet ass time to complain to the ref before playing the ball. I have a feeling he was genuinely rattled today but who cares, he's been great so far and deserves more praise.

Welcome to todays NRL.

To be honest, there is more milking and diving in NRL than there is in football (soccer). There isn't as much faking injury of course, but going down of your own will to simulate a foul and earn a penalty is a part of every set of six.... and nearly every ruck these days. Repeat offenders like Housten get yelled at by the Refs for milking every play nearly.

No he was not our issue yesterday but he is also not playing like he loves the club or the jersey. This is the issue I have with Darius. Im not doubting his ability with ball in hand but some aggression on kick returns wouldn't go astray.

Just on the Cooper tackle. It was high and he copped it in the jaw. Not many players would just bounce up from that and it was a joke that we didnt receive at least a penalty for it. The NRL bangs on about player welfare yet this shit goes unpunished

Agree with CR, Cooper's arm was wrapped around the ball which was being carried high, good hit

Clearly wasnt high. It was a great tackle.

If thats the case then Ill retract my statement about the tackle. I was at the game and the big screen replay looked like his arm bounced off the ball and collected Boyds chin.

The fact that I cant find a replay of the incident anywhere online likely means that it was a non issue

I get the impression he doesn't like playing against his ex team mates. I think he was pretty close to a few of the guys at the Dragons.

Dragons fans also haven't forgiven him for that dump tackle he put on Gasnier in State of Origin a few years ago when they were team mates.
