Check out this gem...

WHAT a wonderfully exhilarating finals series we have witnessed in the NRL this season - but could we be heading for the flattest grand final in history?

You just have to wonder how genuine Sydney footy fans would take to a Warriors-Storm grand final.
Not too well in my opinion.
Sure there will be interest and we here at The Daily Telegraph will no doubt dedicate page after page previewing and reviewing the big game.
But will the average Sydney supporter really care who wins? It’s the grand final we don’t want.
Let’s be honest, we here in Sydney want Manly and Cronulla Sharks in the decider.
Two old Sydney clubs who met famously in a grand final exactly 30 years ago.
It was the first drawn grand final, Manly winning the 1978 replay 16-0 three days later at the SCG.
They are two clubs with a great rivalry and great history.
The same cannot be said about Melbourne and the Warriors.
We don’t really dislike either team - I guess they just don’t conjure up any passion or emotion in us.
Who would you cheer for?
With finals momentum, New Zealand is certainly a chance of toppling Manly, and Melbourne will start favourites to defeat Cronulla.
The grand final will be a sell-out but I wonder how many Sydney fans won’t turn up on the day because there is no-one to really support.
We love cheering for the side that plays Manly while Sharks coach Ricky Stuart is a man you either love or hate.
Let’s hope they meet in the GF. It would be passionate and tough.
The other option isn’t so exciting.

Yeah, I mean we didn't turn up or watch the 2006 GF with two out-of-Sydney sides did we.

Doug Richmond, you're a dickhead.

I'd love the Warriors to be in it. Will be a GF for the ages if they do.

If thats the case Dean Dickhead, whats the f**king point of having the warriors or storm in the NRL?
Should the NRL (News LTD) inform those two teams that they can play in the NRL regular season comp, but you are not allowed to make the GF as it will bore Dean Dickhead.
FMD he is a deadweight.....so much for promoting the finals series.

OK...

The media deride our game as being just a "Sydney and Brisbane game".

When we show we're bigger than this - and what could be better to shatter a stereotype than the game's showcase match featuring teams from neither of these places? It's derided and ridiculed as "the game no one wants"...

Also, No one dislikes Melbourne? What rock has he been living under?

In the Useless Hack Journo Team Of The Century, Dean Ritchie is captain-coach. Lazy, lacking insight, lacking any real skill as a wordsmith - it is an embarrassment that this disgrace is a prominent rugby league writer.

Give him credit for not eating pies long enough to type up the articles he does.

God is it any wonder we have doomsdayers and crap in our game.
We are cannibalising it!

Who cares about the average sydney-sider anyways.

They've shown repeatedly their ambivalence about the code. They dont deserve to be catered for.

Bring on Warriors verus Storm - it would be a cracker of a contest, and would place the game at the top of the tree in terms of a spectacle.

And this bloke is supposed to be one of the head RL writers. He is nothing more than a lazy slob hack that has the same opinions as the rest of the Hadley/News LTD crew.

Someone should tell Dean Dickhead that the first drawn Grand Final was actually in 1977 (Dragons v Eels). Honestly, where do they get these clowns from?

So predictable and inaccurate. Bring on a Warriors v Storm GF. It would be awesome.

A Warriors V Storm GF at a sold out Telstra Dome, now that would be a step in the right direction!
