I would be happy to see Sirro replace Benji and leave Anasta at half,if they do well Benji can come back and play in the centres,Rowdy and Blake have been ineffective for a period of time now and need to be relegated along with Moltzen. For too long we have been carrying players that are liabilities.
Benji in the centres is a massive no. He's 1 on 1 defence is atrocious and his sliding defence is average at best. He would need his winger to help him and that would create an overlap and tries out wide.

Ayshford and Lawrence struggled last year because our forwards struggled to dominate and our constantly changing halves were unable to get any quality ball to them.

Ayshford has improved already this year and as his confidence comes back and continues to grow, he'll continue improving and get back to his best form.

Lawrence will too, I think his defence has improved already this year on last seasons.

He needs to get some good opportunities out wide though, most of the good ball tends to head Ayshfords way.

Reddy is woeful under the high ball. I've lost count of how many times he has soared above the pack only for the ball to hit him flush on the shoulder and fly away. He's essentially a poor mans Pat Richards

FFS i cant believe people can seriously consider Moltzen at 6 - a leader driving our backline!
The guy is a f**king gimp who would be a killer country star but is not NRL quality.
He is incapable of everything required of an NRL footballer.

Absolutely, he bring nothing to the team whatsoever.
I bet Potter goes with Moltzen at 1/2, Anasta at 5/8 and Ted at FB.

Well, i wouldnt bet on it but im thinking that.

Hopefully with some time off he can refresh and take a look at his game a bit RE Benji.

All in all Potter is not going to sack or drop Marshall.

3 months without Benji would have been far too long. If it is now only 3 games as is being reported, then that is a nice little period to see how we operate without him. IMO we need him straight back in regardless, but perhaps the picture in regards to who will compliment him the best will be more clearly defined by then.

He should be on the wing in defence,Re.05 GF Pat RIchards try, last year he scored 2 tries in a game against the Roosters standing in the centres ,proving out wide one on one he will beat his man 9/10. times.as for his defence its shit house no matter where he plays.

Well, its been a month since I first posted this. The pressure is building and the questions don't go away. Benji now benched. I hope he responds positively to the kick and regains his spark and brilliance. It cant go on the way it has been.

He's been nothing short of shocking but in his defence he's most dangerous when players are in motion, and by players I mean all players around him in an attacking raid, this year that gone out the window, combined with his reluctance to run at the line with any vigour has made him nothing more than a passenger.

Heard on a radio report last time Benji got dumped was 8 years ago, which would make it 2005. I don't recall myself, and dont know if anyone else does. Not making any correlations, but hopefully its a kick he needs.

The last bad news Benji got to his career was when he had the test captaincy taken from him.

he's played like a busted ever since.

Being benched, I dunno, it's a reality check for him I hope, but I think he'll just sook some more.

Someone needs to piss him off on the field, fire him up for f**ks sake. He just looks like he's going through the motions.

I think he's physically about 90% fit.

mentally though, I don't think he's in the same country as the ballpark.

2006 - Round 9 and 10 he came off the bench after a month off with an injury.

They were the last times he started on the bench.

Prior to that:

2005 - Round 7 - Sheens benched him after he played like shit against the Cowboys, which saw us lose 44-20.

And before that was his debut:
2003 - Round 20 - Tigers beat Newcastle 52-12. From memory Ben Galea was unstoppable that day

He wasn't dropped for form reasons - this game was just after he'd played for NZ (possibly even the night before?), and thus there was doubt he'd even make the game at all.

I remember that game. Farah scored in the first minute and I missed it because the ticket machines at Parra Stadium shat themselves 30 minutes before kick off, so many fans were left stranded outside. Good times.

It's up to Benji now to get himself fit to compete, really as a pro footballer this should not even be an issue. With greater fittness his confidence should return show casing his ability for the benefit of all within the WT.

Oh precious one- go if you want to (edit- and take Blair with you). I really am getting sick of hearing about him.................. Tantrum time coming?????????

Benji unhappy at Wests Tigers?

– May 15,

I keep hearing struggling superstar Benji Marshall is unhappy at the Wests Tigers and hasn’t gelled with new coach Mick Potter.
Marshall’s shock relegation to the bench for Friday night’s clash with Souths only adds to the talk of unrest. Sources suggest he would even consider switching clubs – but only if it’s a Sydney based team.
Trouble is, Benji is on $600,000-a-season at the club and not a lot of clubs would pay that sort of money considering his recent form.
Maybe Parramatta Eels coach Ricky Stuart will step in to solve his five-eighth issues at the club.

Marshall has been a very good player for the WTs and deserves to be treated with respect.

Benji has the runs on the scoreboard but is down on form. He is a fighter and there is no better indication of this than coming back from three shoulder reconstructions.

Potter has not been impressive to date.

Take the rose coloured glasses off. All that fighting is well in the past, his current form has been terrible for some time now. More than just a temporary form slump- he needs a rocket up him and/or a change of scenery.
