Is all the information you had on that site.. in you book?
No. The Rugby Rebellion (aka Pioneers of Rugby League) recounts the lead up to the founding of RL in Aust, then its first three seasons.

Hey Sean, my knowledge of internet websites and their maintenance is limited, but could you not have made some money through advertising and copyright?
Not trying to have a go, just curious.
i still regard the history of rugby league clubs book that i got for my 16th birthday one of the best presents i ever got, full of information and a great read
Thats the same major concern we have with our site too.The only attempts at re-use of my material were the unauthorised ones who simply cut & pasted to their own websites (until I became aware of them & resolved them with the aid of a helpful lawyer).
I looked at advertising numerous times, and never came to the point where I thought the $ return was worth platering the site & annoying visitors with the adverts. As the site was also used by many children, I was averse to gambling adverts etc, which further limited the scope. Maybe that was unrealistic on my part, but I wasn't prepared to compromise on those.
Sorry? what has happened?
I am a fan too, and have bought a couple of Seans books after reading on the RL1908 site.
Demetriou included a clause in his last media deal that all websites that don't follow the AFL line must be shut down.
lol

Can fully and wholeheartedly understand and agree with your sentiments Sean.
So long as you keep up the good work in RL circles mate, then thats the most important thing imo.
your DallyM book was fantastic! too bad there aren't more books like that available
That's a rare one to have - think I only printed about 200 of them in the end!

The IC should have a position for an official historian, with a chain and cape and everything. That would be awesome.
