Did Jake Mamo deserve his punch?

I love posters like you. When you don,t agree with someone you call them a name. Shows a lack of knowledge.

I'd say referring to someone getting an unsuspected closed fist to the back of the head causing a serious concussion as a 'bitch slap' is displaying an extreme lack of knowledge.

You are a f**king trackhead, if coward mcConnachie can give someone a severe conclusion from a slap he should be fighting for the heavyweight title

Quiet ironic that supporters of a club that has the two biggest cheap shooters in the game in Beau Scott and Jeremy Smith should be carrying on about foul play. Not to mention the Sims brothers.

Way to miss the point completely.

I made comment about this incident and I am no supporter of Newcastle. I am however a supporter of rugby league and I find it really quite sad people can not see the wrong done here. Put your own son in the position of Mamo, would you feel the same if some coward dropped him from behind?

I would think you would be upset...to say the least.

Of course they'd be upset. It's all just the LU heros talking a big game as usual.

Are you really comparing a late hit or shoulder charge to a coward punch, well done mate, you've just confirmed how much of a dickhead you are. I wonder if you'd be so ok with it if someone you knew copped that on the street

Beau Scott could have broken JTs neck in Round 2, not a peep from Knights fans. In fact there was applause all round. Hypocrisy is their specialty.

Scott was wearing 'Rise For Alex' on his back and didn't get suspended either.

Mate watch the tackle again, Houston was the one who lifted, Scott had hold of his upper body and I think most knights fans were in agreement that Houston should've been suspended, what knights fans were defending were the hits that were marginally late by Scott, penalty any day of the week but the hits in no way warranted a suspension as you see them week in week out, but don't let the facts get in the way of you beating yourself off

By body you mean head (driven forcefully, late and completely unecessarily), yeah?

You see this is where the 'righteous indignation' routine over Mamo becomes hollow. Scott was not a victim of circumstance. He was quite obviously out to hurt Thurston, most likely under instruction, and couldn't control himself.

The fans came to see Ipswich play terrific footy on GF day, not wankers from Newcastle carry on like turkeys.

So that makes it ok to king hit someone? Christ Queenlanders are just incapable of admitting that they're in the wrong.

I realise that as a Knights supporter you are unused to much success. But you need to control your emotion as it is clouding your judgement. Queenslanders rule.

Settle princess, Christ could turn your tears into wine.

No one supports the act of hitting from behind. A send off should have occurred and hopefully a lengthy suspension ensues.

A good portion of your backwards state are supporting it including a former First Grade player. I know years of preferrential treatment has left Queensland Rugby League players with a sense of entitlement but this incident was one step too far.

Qlder logic - you should be fine with people king hitting your players from behind because some completely unrelated, far less controlled and considered incident involving a player that's no longer with your club made our golden boy cry... and you didn't have a problem with that!

They do have schools and everything up there, right?

Then what's the disagreement here? Btw knights fans didn't start this thread, only thing we have issue is (besides the inaction of the officials) is morons you think coward punches are all good

Should have been a sin-bin and if it was up to me, those type of punches would result in season long bans.

Unfortunately, the NRL set a dangerous precedent years ago when they charged James Tamou with a Grade 2 striking charge for a similar incident.

That precedent has since seen the likes of Jennings (Origin 1 2012, Grade 1 Contrary Conduct) and Trent Merrin (Origin 2 2013, Grade 1 striking) receive lenient punishments for similarly dangerous acts.

All three were sent to the bin, and Billy should have as well but the punishments should not have ended there.

I haven't seen enough of Mamo to comment on his behaviour. From what I understand, he's acting like a grub who's constantly trying to cause fights on the field. Hopefully he gets it out of his game, he's too talented a player to get caught up in that rubbish.
