Pete, I normally get a bit of a chuckle out your rhymes and sayings, apart from the past couple of days when you've given me the right sh!ts!!
BUT, this one brought me back. I actually spat out part of my cookie when I read it.
Mind you, I still think you're on the wrong side and thus a total knob. ;-)
That's what being a football follower is all about. You have your own views and standards and stick to your views no matter what. I have mine....
Like someone else posted 'If you always do, what you always done, you'll always get what you always got'
I am not against change. But I am against change for changes sake. There seems to me that there is a total misconception of Denis Fitzgerald by members of the forum. There could not be a more dedicated servant to the Eels. He has been there for the long haul, and I couldn't care less is he was getting 40K or 400K for doing the job. Someone has to do it, why not the most experienced administrator in the NRL?
Ray Price, Brett Kenny and Eric Grothe were
MIGHTY players for the Eels. But that does not qualify them to sit on the Board of a Multi Million Dollar corporation- or does it?
If it was Peter Wynn, Peter Sterling and Mike Eden running that would be a different matter.
I don't think success on the football field equates to success in the Board room. Ray Price has too much baggage in bagging the Club in recent years for me to have confidence in him being able to work as part of Football Club Board.
His constant criticism of Brian Smith and the Club administrators was not in the interest of the Parramatta Club. How will he be able to change from that attitude?
I would also like to know what can the footballing trio can achieve by negotiating with corporate bodies that the business men can't?
