Do we keep Sandow?

Given what were paying Foran and Norman, Sandow is probably currently worth about $150k-200k to Parra. If we offer him any more we're being silly. Surely he's worth alot more to other clubs than he is to Parra.

I wouldn't be keeping both Norman and Sandow as I don't think Norman is really suited to fullback.

Sandow would definitely benefit in an attacking situation with the potential rule changes but it could also mean that he's more of a liability in defence. The edge forward will become tired late in matches so Sandow's defence will be exposed even more, and as much as Sandow has picked up this area of his game he's still weak at it.

I would probably agree. So do you offload someone you already have under contract and re-sign someone you don't?

I have no idea who we should offload, there is a good case to keep either ( I can't decide). It wouldnt be too hard to offload Norman if we decided on Sandow.

A good problem, and to think it was only few years we were arguing if McGuire should partner Robson over Mortimer in the halves.

but in all seriousness who do you see recruiting sandow? if he was that good manly would have snatched him up by now. With Hodkinson, Sezer and Maloney all off contract sandow is way down the list and would still be a chance of being forgotten.

and as someone else suggested I doubt he wants to head to England.

Well if no one else wants him then he gets offered minimum wage and not a cent more. I'm happy for him to be re-signed if he is on a minimum wage contract, which I'm guessing is what we have Kelly on.

No point paying someone more than we have to.

I don't think Sandow would be after an increase from his last deal - especially if he is (now) feeling happy playing for us and under Arthur. A lot of the time that feeling is worth more than an extra $50,000 from somewhere else, and Sandow may even take a small reduction to stay, if that's all we could offer..

I don't think we're in cap trouble... so if we can afford it - as well as re-signing Hoppa or an equivalent centre/fullback alternative - then we may as well lock Sandow in for another two years? Foran will add so much to this squad, that it might help everyone else step up another gear as well.

Norman has to stay next year unless we arrange otherwise, and we can worry about renewing him or not for 2017 at the end of this year.

There is no point paying anymore than minimum wage to the guy that tallied 9th overall in last years DallyM's when you already paid $1.2M for the guy that tied on points with him.

How quickly we forget that even though we ran 10th last year, we are the only club apart from Manly that had 2 players in the top 10 of the DallyM's.

We lost one of ours to NFL, we bought one from Manly for 2016 and yet you all want to get rid of the other one we had in 2014 (who is tied in 10th spot after 3 rounds with our other half).:crazy:

My comment about paying him minimum wage was in response to a comment that said that no one else would want him.

Now you must agree that if no one else wants him (I don't believe that to be true) then there is no point paying him anything more than the minimum wage, because he won't be getting anything more from anywhere else.

The original topic to that conversation came about because I said that surely he is worth more to other clubs now than what he's worth to Parra.

I've changed my view - Sandow to stay on. f**king awesome display tonight in all facets of his game. Now for week-to-week consistency.
