Do we keep Tim Mannah?

Mannah is not a leader. He seems like a nice guy, and was a great smiling "club captain" - but should never have been made the first grade captain.

Do we keep him? His 40min per game can be played as a starter or from the bench, so yes... keep him as part of the bench rotation, and make sure he is not a captain in 2016. That way he won't be out there at the end of any matches that count, and he likely won't pressure himself into making a dumb error.

Made good metres against souffs, plays like other props who have played for our club

That's just it, he's a similar (but bigger) Cayless. He and Hindy were also put in the too-nice, not-much-of-a-leader category. Have to go back to Pay for a captain that was super competitive, plenty of mongrel and dictated the culture. Still didn't win us a comp but geez we'd kill for someone like that these days.

Make Peats captain and start Mannah from the bench.

Given the way our season's going surely there not much to lose and it may just be the ecatalyst to shake things up enough to start is winning a few.

This team needs to be taken out of their comfort zone

Well the Dragons playing their lower than required Captain on the bench doesn't seem to be doing them much harm, so it's worth a try.

our captain has been in his comfort zone since 2011.

Do we keep Ashley Schaeffer?

It's obvious a lot of posters think higher of Parra players then how they would be rated at other clubs . That's fair, because the last decade of mediocrity shows thats how those in important positions at the club think too.

Are you saying you're mediocre?
Actually, to be serious, Tim Mannah will never play origin again. He's probably not quite lived up to the expectations we had on him when he first came to grade footy. But I'd say he's about in the middle of NRL props at present. I'd say he's good enough to keep in first grade. I don't think he'd be on huge money, either. He's tried his arse off for this side - and he lost his brother recently, so a bit of loyalty should be given, too. (Not that I think his form warrants him being retained purely on loyalty, but just saying.) There's other blokes in this team I'd like to get rid of first. Like Will Hopoate. Hey, Mr Nice-Guy, pull your finger out, and start doing something, eh? The most pedestrian, safety-first player I think I've ever seen.

lol I'm the opposite. I think Mannah is in a comfort zone as a player, isn't adding anything worth while to his game, has probably gone backwards as a player in what should be the peak of his career and as a leader of the club the culture starts here. I feel accepting that average, middle of the road performance is what gets you in trouble as a club. I remember a few years ago he and Matt Scott were both coming a long at around the same time and had some awesome battles as leaders of their packs. Matt Scott is now the 1st forward picked for Australia and QLD and has added subtlety and improved his game to maintain a place in the top 2 or 3 props in the game ever since.

Mannah has led a forward pack to 2 wooden spoons and really doesnt appear to have added anything. I'm not saying he's the worst player in the team or world but i'm saying if we truly want to be a professional club players like Mannah should be a thing of the past.

I actually think the opposite with Hoppa. He isn't a world beater but he's a smart professional. He does his job and is continually improving, working on things and its noticeable.

Mannah was great tonight! The most enthusiastic and whole hearted i've seen from him in a couple of seasons and it set the tone for the whole performance. Hope he and us back it up next week.

Mannah had his best game in years. He has his nemesis next week in Matt Scott. Let's see how he responds.

The run he made in the 2nd half was the best run he has made in 5 years.

Still wouldnt have him as captain though look at peats tonight. Segeyaro pushed him and peats shoved him back showing segeyaro he wasnt going to be pushed around and bullied thats what u want and we need from a leader.
