Do we keep Tim Mannah?

The run he made in the 2nd half was the best run he has made in 5 years.

Still wouldnt have him as captain though look at peats tonight. Segeyaro pushed him and peats shoved him back showing segeyaro he wasnt going to be pushed around and bullied thats what u want and we need from a leader.

Was great to see the whole team rush in then.

Mannah was great tonight! The most enthusiastic and whole hearted i've seen from him in a couple of seasons and it set the tone for the whole performance. Hope he and us back it up next week.

Good on you for saying that, mate. You're no death-rider, that's for sure.

Way past it in my opinion. Plus his demeanor/personality does not motivate.

Annoys me how his sole contribution as captain, seems to be to pat a player on the head and say 'no worries' after he has dropped the ball.

Welcome to the Forum.
Good to see you have a good grasp of what happens on the field.
Looking forward to more valuable contributions in the future.

Mannah had his best game in years last weekend. Leave him be. At least for a week.

Interestingly his stats against Penrith were similar to Souths and no where near his game against the Warriors.

Amazing how a win changes opinions of player.

That's why you watch the game and don't just read the numbers on paper.

He was pumped , active, good body language, strong contact and carried the ball strong. Hasn't been like that for his whole mins on the field in years.

Gotta back it up on Monday now or we'll probably get smashed in the forwards, lose and rightfully he'll cop it again. Get pumped up Timmy!

spot on, stats only tell some of the story. Friday night was the hardest he has run in years.

Finally decided to watch the press conference from last night 24 hours on. And watching the anger and disappoint in peats voice was something i haven't seen in a press conference in a while. Unlike the dribble that comes out of tim's mouth every week. As nice are bloke tim is. We arent going anywhere with him as captain. And id personally have him on the bench with wicks and jnr paulo to start.

Wicks has missed nearly as many tackles as Sandow has this year. Wicks is top 5 for missed tackles.

Mannah is double the player wicks is defensively and makes more metres

He hasn't played a FG game since 2009, he wasn't going to sustain a high level of performance over the course of a full NRL season.

Missed tackles can be misleading too. It's how and where you miss them.

The captain got run over by Tamou early in the game , straight over the top of him. He did seem to run with gusto and effort he's just not an elite front rower. Not even close. Every team would have 1 or 2 front rowers who offer more than him as a player let a lone a leader. Don't want to sound like i'm death riding him, i just don't think he's the answer to developing a top culture , mentality and toughness.

Imo Tim is a good starting prop when he has a dominant prop to partner with - like Jumior.

Junior hasn't played much this year and I reckon it has impacted Tim's game.

I do think we should do a 2004 Tigers, though, and give the captaincy to Peats (the Tigers took the captaincy off Mark O'Neill in 2004, if I recall correctly, and many people were unhappy such a popular playet was no longer skipper - but it paid off).

I like Timmy and think he has a lot to offer, but it seems to me that the captaincy has affected his game.

It's a no brainier, Peats for skipper for mine. Timmy just seems to nice, even when he tries to rip in you just couldn't take that Mr nice guy seriously. Peats has that merkin about him we need.

I think his go forward has dropped off too hasn't it?

Watching from my seat near the fence on the 20 metre line at the northern end of the ground on Monday night, there was a noticeable difference in the way Wicks and Mannah were carting the ball back from the kick offs. Timmy was unwavering and ran with a lot of purpose back in to the Cowboys defensive line... Wicks was inclined to crab a little sideways and prop a little when he got to the defensive line...
