So apparently to get a life ban in the NRL you have too:

* Make an unacceptable social media post

* Put a $10 first try scorer bet on

Everything else can be forgiven

or to turn it around, to not get a life ban in the nrl you need to

* dont drag the games values through the mud
* don’t commit numerous offences
* if you f**k up be contrite, apologise and keep your nose clean for the rest of your career

* How is beating your Mrs, beating someone to within an inch of their life, terrorising a whole family, DUI and the list goes on not dragging the games values through the mud?
* Folau hasn't committed any offences at all, let alone as an NRL player.
* Folau has kept his nose clean the rest of his career hasn't he? I don't recall any f**k ups in the super league.

Barba got the heave ho for smacking his wife in the moosh, even though he was never charged for it. I suspect he might have won if he'd taken them to court and she supported him.

the games values
This is hilarious. Just what are they?
Don't draw bad press.
Don't bring adverse attention to us on social media.
Don't upset interest groups, especially powerful ones. The less powerful ones, doesn't matter so much.
That's about it really.

The game's values are that they want to draw their handsome salaries without any headaches to deal with.

The games values are run by the media and what generates some good old fashioned outrage.

The players are worse off not breaking the law. If they break the law or are accused of breaking the law we get the whole "The NRL will let due process take its course" and "Joe Bloggs has served his punishment and will be given the opportunity to redeem himself"

I personally have no problem with the above in most cases.

Don't break the law and cause a media shit storm you get your papers stamped.

The very heart of the Christian faith is that the only way to overcome sin is to commit to Christ. Every sermon in a Christian church stresses this. Anyone who does not believe it is not a Christian.
This is abject garbage. You are not the arbiter of who is a Christian or not, nor do you decide what they believe from within their faith.
They are not singled out.
They are absolutely singled out. Gay conversion therapy is a real thing that some Christian organisations do.

If someone who is same sex attracted wishes to follow Christian (or Muslim for that matter) doctrine, and seeks counselling from priests and such, you have a problem with this? Such people do exist, often wishing to follow a career in theology.

Gay conversion therapy is a suitably sinister name invented by the press (surprise, surprise) but that's all it means. They don't do shock treatment or anything.

That is it for me. Makes zero sense to support Criminals but someone makes a post but are blacklisted for good

social credits system at play here. Whilst it would be better if our system was regulated (eg china) I think it has been producing results that sit well with current society

as an org that’s working damn hard to not only be inclusive but lead the social conversation on inclusiveness Id have thought that would be pretty obvious to all but the most blind!
1. Dont damage the brand
2. Keep your opinions to yourself and don’t be racist or homophobic on public platforms
3. Don’t get arrested and found guilty of a crime
4. Don’t get filmed doing anything that achieves #1

it’s not fcking hard for a decent human being to achieve these things and keep their massively over inflated egos and salaries intact!

1. it isn’t and those players all underwent some form of punishment and repented, those that didn’t got booted out for good. Most would have no problem at all with nrl banning serious criminals for life.
2. He’s shown that he doesn’t share the nrls inclusive values, and more importantly for a very public facing company he has no reticence about sharing those opinions publicly
3. He made it clear in his arbitration with the ARU he feels he has done nothing wrong and believes he has the right to say what he wants because a book of fairytales says so. On balance It’s a matter of when not if, and the nrl doesn’t need any more bad press.
