Why do Nine persist with Hadley when hes is a) a shit caller and b) a shit caller

maybe c ) a wanker

http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment...ed-hadley-tirade-on-phone-20130223-2ey6s.html

Radio broadcaster Ray Hadley was secretly recorded bullying a junior staff member at 2GB.
The employee verbally abused by Hadley, 29-year-old digital content manager Richard Palmer, is understood to have taken his smartphone into Hadley's office on the morning of February 7.
Hadley was initially suspended by Macquarie Radio Network management before the majority owner of the network, John Singleton, is said to have overruled the decision.
It is believed Palmer made the recording because he was concerned about a threat to his employment.
When Hadley began verbally abusing Mr Palmer, the website manager is understood to have opened the voice recording application on his phone.
The top-rating radio host was angry because Mr Palmer had not uploaded a podcast of The Ray Hadley Morning Show quickly enough onto 2GB's website.
Mr Palmer has declined to comment on the incident, including for this story, and neither Hadley nor Macquarie Radio Network's managing director, Rob Loewenthal, responded to calls or emails about the recording.
The secret recording of Hadley's bullying is understood to have disgusted Mr Loewenthal so much that he suspended Hadley on Tuesday, February 12.
An email was sent to staff explaining Hadley would be off the air for the rest of the week.
But, instead of accepting his punishment, Hadley called his friend Mr Singleton and, following his intervention, Hadley continued broadcasting.
The next morning, he told his listeners: ''Before we get down to business, there's a story on the front page of the Telegraph today about me … Sometimes in the hurly-burly of life of radio, just like other organisations and families, people have disagreements. It's part of life. The relationship between myself and the executives of this station will always survive any disagreement we might have … So let's get back to business''.
On February 14, Fairfax Media revealed the story involving Hadley's call to Mr Singleton and the majority owner overruling his managing director. Then, at 12.15pm on February 15, 2GB staff gathered in the boardroom to hear Hadley apologise for the bullying.
''Nobody expected that,'' an employee, who witnessed the apology, said. ''He'd kind of fobbed the story off on air and there was nothing more to it. It took a few people by surprise but I think there was a bit of closure, at least for the company, after he did that. He genuinely looked pretty rattled by it. You could tell from his demeanour … and his mouth was quite dry as well.
''I've never seen him like that''.
It is understood Mr Palmer has been away from work since February 14.

Just goes to show that credibility that 2GB has. As long as you're Singo's stooge, all is well. Funny how Hadley was so anti-Bears and then when changed his tune in the twinkling of an eye when Singo got on board with the Central Coast Bears campaign.

The second sentence underlined in bold epitomises why I have no respect for people like Hadley. Instead of taking his punishment when he knew he was in the wrong, he kicked up a big stink. Never wants to admit he's ever wrong. Complete cold-blooded narcissist.

I can't see why he couldn't do both home and away games, he lives in Sydney and so does Halligan.

I thought Sky Sports now only covers Warriors home games and takes the Fox/Ch9 coverage for Warriors matches in Australia. I know they covered Warriors away games in the first two years (1995/96) of their history.

There was talk last year that sky wanted to cover both Home/Away so who knows, just depends on how much sky are squeezed in the TV deal I think.

I f**king dread when the Storm get Channel 9 games. The fox commentators are far far and away the more professional commentary team.

Andrew Voss should come over to fox. Would be more than welcome

It was finally good to hear a decent call in a Warriors match. Welcome back Vossy.

I hope he continues calling for Sky, or at least more matches in the NRL, would seem like a waste not having him call matches this year.

Ch 9 should fk Hadley off. Apart from Warren and Sterling they just about have the worst commentators.

I can manage voss's ego, its reasonably well contained. The world is not big enough for Hadley. Apart from personalities, who is the better caller? Voss, by a mile.

Ray Hadley is not only a terrible caller - he is a crap human being (according to Fairfax Media), a bully and massive coward

http://www.smh.com.au/entertainment...o-back-down-to-ray-hadley-20130309-2fsg8.html

Ray Hadley picked on the wrong guy. Fed up with the radio host's constant bullying and physical threats, Mark Piepers did a rare thing: he stood up.
When Hadley threatened Piepers physically, the imposing broadcaster must have thought he had an easy target.
Like many of Hadley's targets, Piepers, at 175 centimetres, appeared no match for the host's hulking frame. And given Piepers' relatively lowly position as 2UE's overnight newsreader, Hadley wielded significant power over him.

But there was one thing Hadley did not know about the newsreader. ''He didn't know any of my boxing or martial arts history,'' Piepers said.

Piepers has decided to speak on the record about Hadley's serial bullying to stand up for dozens of colleagues who have been too scared to tell their stories.

Hadley's bullying and intimidation of junior colleagues is an open secret in the radio industry but until recently has been hidden from public view.
The argument between Hadley and Piepers began one morning in 2001. Hadley was driving into work listening to the 2UE news bulletin.

Piepers made the mistake - in Hadley's eyes - of replacing some two-day-old rugby league scores with fresh AFL results.
The phone rang. It was Hadley. ''I heard the word f--- more times in a sentence than I'd ever heard anyone put together before,'' Piepers said.
But Hadley was not finished. When he arrived at the office he marched up to Piepers' desk and continued his tirade in the middle of the newsroom.
If Hadley was abusing anybody else, the incident would have ended there. But Piepers was tired of the bullying. ''I went into the sports department … and said, 'Ray, that's not acceptable to talk to me in that fashion.'
''Then [Hadley] said: 'If you don't f--- off now I'm gonna punch you through that f---ing wall.'''

Colleagues of Piepers say this was not Hadley's wisest move.
An article in the Australasian martial arts magazine Blitz describes Piepers as having trained in ''close-quarter fighting and ambush drills''. He is an amateur boxer with skills in jujitsu, karate and kung fu.
''Once he'd threatened to punch me out … I kept telling him, 'Mate, step up to the plate,''' Piepers said. ''I don't get threatened like that and take it lying down.''

But ''lying down'' is exactly how Hadley's juniors endure his bullying. Hadley's behaviour has been protected for decades by successive management teams at 2UE and now 2GB.
In 2001, 2UE was owned by Southern Cross Broadcasting. It is now owned by Fairfax Media.

Last month Hadley's bullying was exposed in newspapers after a younger colleague secretly recorded one of Hadley's vicious tirades on his phone.
Managing director Rob Loewenthal suspended the top-rating host for the bullying incident, but instead of accepting his punishment Hadley called his friend John Singleton, the network's majority owner, who overruled Loewenthal's decision and ensured the broadcaster remained on air.
Since reporting the story, Fairfax Media has been contacted by more than a dozen of Hadley's current and former colleagues. Most spoke off the record because they fear retribution. According to numerous sources, Hadley often demands employees be fired for mistakes as minor as mispronouncing a suburb's name or misreading a football score. This is why Piepers has decided to speak out. ''Hadley's been allowed to get away with this for so long,'' he said. His account has been confirmed by former 2UE host Mike Carlton and three others who worked at the station at the time.

By the time Hadley was threatening to punch Piepers through a wall, an audience had gathered near the sports department. A witness recalls Piepers saying to Hadley: ''Let's go, baby.'' Hadley ''very quickly'' sat down.

Hadley did not respond to Fairfax Media's requests for an interview.

My opinion - Nine needs to dump him quick smart and bring back Vossy

Voss is calling next weeks Warriors/Roosters I think.

Unfortunately at this stage it'll only be Warriors home matches.

Today's call from Hadley was awful, but then again, I barely watched it at a 4pm timeslot with about 50,000 ad breaks.

Sky NZ only uses their commentary team for Warriors home matches (not away games), so most likely we'll only get to hear Vossy 12 times this year.

Nevertheless, Vossy is a huge improvement on Sky's previous two callers, Jason Costigan and ...McIvor.

Recording the game and fast forwarding through the ads solves that problem - but it doesn't erase Hadley.

I looked in TiVo recording options for a remove Hadley option - but there doesn't seem to be one.

Raaaay is a f**king grub

You should all have a read of this when Ray tells you that your mouths can be removed from scipione's lap

http://wixxyleaks.com/2013/03/06/hypocrisy-is-the-greatest-luxury/

Chris Murphy has been giving it to Raaaaay on twitter for ages. Raaaay has done nothing because Murphy will tear the f**king germ to shreds

Funnily enough I was just about to post that link when I read it today, but this website went spaz and I couldn't get back on for a while. The comments section is just as interesting as the actual article about why Ch9 employed someone like Hadley (going off topic here) who's allowed to have such a huge influence on not only influencing other people's political opinions (i.e. the flock of sheep), but also proceedings regarding the NSW Police and NSW state governments (not to mention his son being in the police force and the controversy regarding the person at his daughter's school formal after-party whom allegedly damaged Hadley's property when there was other information about Hadley and his son that never saw the light of the media). It is quite scary when you think about it. Another interesting link is this:

http://www.independentaustralia.net/2013/business/media-2/how-the-nsw-police-helped-ray-hadley/

This year, I'm going to watch every game Hadley calls on mute or not watch it altogether. And I took that stand today after 5 minutes of the Storm/Dragons match. No way can I support someone who can't call RL on tv for nuts compared to Vossy, but someone who's nothing other than a narcissist bully and I'm happy to see all these people come forth and give us their first-hand experiences of what he is like and what we've all known about him. I don't feel sorry for him one bit because the shit is about to hit his ceiling in a very big way soon.

How he got to sit alongside two of the greatest players to ever lace a football boot in the commentary box today - Wally and Joey - is beyond me. Feel sorry that they had to put up with him.

True, but its do hard to miss the result. It was shown on QLD TV 2 hrs after the game started so the result was known before the telecast started. Nine think this leads people to watch their Sunday news but it turns me away from Nine because of their arrogance

which reminds me, do you guys remember the 2008 Australian Rugby League team of the century presentation (which was shown in snippets on The Footy Show that night, which in itself was a disgrace, as an event of that prestige definitely deserved to be shown separately, preferably on Fox Sports) where Lewis was named 5/8th in the side and when he was interviewed by Hadley on stage (who was MC at that event), Hadley had his arms all over Lewis and constantly touching him? If I were Lewis, I would've pushed Hadley away from me and said "Don't you bloody touch me again!"
