I like BA. He is Parramatta through and through and it is a pity the results just aren't there.

It really bothers me that we seem completely incapable of winning away. One win in 2 seasons and that was at Penrith which is up the road.

I just don't understand why we cant perform like we have at Bankwest at other venues. Why ? When was the last time we turned up to an away game and just played with high energy, high intensity and dominated the opposition?

I think that comes down to coaching.

He has developed a decent squad. And questions need to be asked why we perform the way we do?

It comes down to results.
5yrs as coach and 1 finals appearance. This might be 2 in 6 yrs. We can argue 2016 would of been another but I am not convinced. The team was able to play with no pressure of games mattering if won or lost....
Yeah he was also f**ked in 2015 when cockface went to NFL....
But 2018 was a disaster. That side never should of won a spoon over the dogs.
2019 is a real acid test but as it stands we are yet to win a finals game in 5yrs.
Bad timing for BA perhaps but not as bad as when Rickey or SK come.

Drilling down further, I think it comes down to game day travel and preparation. The old “we haven’t got off the bus”. I really would like to know what happens between departure and kick off that leads to us having such sluggish starts almost every time

Given that Cam Smiths retirement is around the corner, it would not surprise me if Bellamy would be looking for a change. He might be interested in securing his status as a coaching legend by winning at more than one club.
Trying to get Bellamy seems more like a Brisbane,Rooster or Souths (or Parra early 80s) thing to do, but since it would be great to be thought of in that group of clubs maybe we should be offering him a fortune.

Lol Martina will give it away the moment after #cam645324231324252 does.

He knows he's not going to have anything like the success he did with Melbourne and their filing cabinets/totally-at-arms-length TPAs at any other club

Maybe, maybe not. Everyone thought Bennett would retire after his Broncos time ended then he coached Dragons.

I reckon Bellamy will end up at the Broncos when he's finished with Melbourne. I'm sure he's maintained that he wants to go home to QLD eventually. What exactly that will be is the question... He signed on for a further 3 years last year so his current deal ends after season 2021.

A lot will depend on if Siebold can get their shit together between now and then I guess...

Possibly. That's really the only club I can see him wanting to go to.

I don't think the Roosters fit his coaching style and I don't think he will touch anyone else without huge salary cap advantages. He's well aware of his reputation, deserved or not (and I'm not commenting either way on that) and he's well aware of the role Melbourne's advantages have played in that...the bloke is a merkin, but he's not a dumb one.

I am open to what the board decide to do regarding the coach. Hope its BA he deserved half a season this year to see where we could be, BUT the next few weeks will be telling. In the fair dinkum stakes there is no reason why we cant beat the cowboys and Penrith next 2 weeks, Plus a Souths side missing Cook, Gagai to Origin and possibly Murray, maybe Walker?

Win those 3, shows we can be consistent and will be 8 from 12. Fair effort that

Hope the guys are hurting and this Storm game puts the fire in their belly to want to perform and be at Parra

We won’t win in Townsville. If BA can’t get them up against the storm, he’ll struggle to get them up after the demoralising disaster of Saturday night.

Na I reckon we’ll be up for it, but Cows, like every other team that isn’t us, will be up to that

TBH it shows a team who won the wooden spoon last year. On the back of a big score the week before and they concluded amongst themselves that they were the real deal. Their opposition who are the real deal, got stung in their previous game and wanted to prove a point. One team was not prepared to roll the sleeves up and the other focused for the kill. A perfect storm, so to speak.
If this were true, the bold part sums up Parramatta's mentality an culture for the past 20 years.

One hot day doesn't make a summer, and these blokes probably think it does. Hence why we never move forward.

Playing devils advocate, I think this attitude is becoming increasingly prevalent amongst modern athletes in general...

Couldn’t agree more. I think they’ll win by 12+. Having said that, I hope we both end up with egg on our faces.

If we come out and are out enthused in the first 30 by the Cowboys I would sack Brad Arthur at half time if I was that Mark O'Neil guy. Tell him he can find his own way back home. This weekend is it.
