F**king Ricky Stuart bailed out after two dozen games.

Love to have a beer with him one day (prolly buy him an Iron Jack :joy: ) and have a chat about Spags and what was so toxic that made him run to the hills.

He won't tell you much in my experience

Having watched interviews on the Eels website I have not much confidence that the boys will be fired up this weekend against the Cowboys.
I know Brad is not a fire in the teams belly type coach like Bellamy or a professional doting the i's and crossing the T's suit wearing type like Robinson.
Supposedly the players love him. They certainly don't fear him, but do they respect him?
I think turning up most weeks less enthusiastic than your opponent is a sign they don't have much respect for him.

Hoffman got interviewed and said essentially "we love Brad and he always instills confidence in us". This to me is code for he mollycoddles us.
I say if they loved him in a respectful way they would out enthuse their opponent some/most weeks. A squads love for their coach should be measured by how much effort they put in on the field.

I don’t think Brad Arthur is the mollycoddling kind of coach going off past history. He wasn’t afraid to drop Fui and deny him a final hurrah before he retired (which didn’t go down well with the big man). He also chose to let Nathan Peats go rather than play out the rest of the season without points. He also kept Bevan French out of his preferred fullback spot and told Norman and Moses they were free to go before their contracts were up. I don’t always agree with his choices but Arthur has shown he isn’t afraid to make the tough choices even if it means ruffling a few feathers.

I reckon it was just obvious the parra job was gonna be hard to rebuild the roster and he got offered his dream coaching destination at canberra

You're preaching to the converted my son. I'm over the whole BA and Guth shitshow. and all the other useless merkins.

Next time Guth fronts a press conference is when he signs a contract albeit with Parra or someone else. I don't think he is doing himself any favours with Parra and non Parra supporters...too much airtime for no result
Guth is massively over rated by a lot of people on here. I like him much more as a $300 000 centre option as opposed to a $650-700 000 fullback.

I dont believe his game changes too much whether he plays fullback, wing, centre, five eight (or hooker - the new Cam smith). He can still make his quick darts from 20m restarts and dummy half, back up the forwards in the early hitups and marshall the troops...

The problem for mine, apart from his lack of speed, is that he tries to do all that from fullback. As a one off trickshot per game, fine. But trying to be everything all of the time and it affecting his role as FB is detrimental to his game IMO.
