Which is much more important than contesting in two GF’s and winning one.

Green inherited a side that had previously gone 7th, 5th, 8th, along with the 2 JT’s

BA inherited a side that had previously gone 12th, 12th, 16th and 16th along with a Sandow and Paulo....

Green got a dream start....BA probably wishes the cowboys chose him instead of Green when they were the last 2 candidates standing..,

My point is Green obviously had f**k all to do with it or he wouldn't be on track to miss the finals for the third straight year.

If our last three seasons looked like that I'd want a scapegoat too.

After purchasing several big name players, the cowboys have still gone, 8th, 13th, 14th and now 14th again, it’s pretty clear Green can’t improve the side (along with rumoured issues between coach and players). I expect BA to be sacked he delivered those results.

Pay has been sacked as the dogs now have the same board issues we had (that quick fixes). Barrett will probably be sacked in 2 years too, after he is unable to deliver quick results.
Green had Thurston.

Like Hagan had Johns.

Until Wayne Bennett most coaches had 3-4 year stints eg Gibson, Willey, Bill Anderson, Fearnley, Monie

Those that had longer like Stanton, Glossop and Fulton had continual finals bound teams and had strong ties to their clubs.

I'm sure if we had a Thurston our attack would be better as well. I believe we have the cheapest highest paid player in the NRL.
Point is Green's success was built on Thurston. Once JT retires Green no longer gets into finals and is moved on.

Let's not forget that the cowboys signed Sheens to some ridiculous long term contract before Green.

Lol it doesn't worry me if clubs sign coaches for 10 years that won't win anything.

So long as it's not mine.
We just won our first finals match in ten years. We've had bigger issues than coaching. We are on the rise, whether Arthur stays or not. I think he's doing a good job and he should stay while that remains the case.

If only our team last night showed half the heart of the Tits tonight.

He has improved them and has them playing tough, also had Arrow, Proctor and Fotuaka out as well. Imagine him with our squad???
You reckon we’d be running 2nd?

Since we are talking about Parramatta lets actually use some meaningful and relevant data. I don't think it supports what you are suggesting at all.

The Chop and Change Era

2007 - 5th, 13 wins, 11 losses (Hagan)
2008 - 11th, 11 wins, 13 losses (Hagan)
2009 - 2nd, 12 wins, 11 losses, 1 draw (DA)
2010 - 12th, 10 wins, 14 losses (DA)
2011 - 14th, 6 wins, 17 losses, 1 draw (Bigface)
2012 - 16th, 6 wins, 18 losses (Bigface and Arthur)
2013 - 16th, 5 wins, 19 losses (Stuart)

63 wins, 103 losses, 2 draws - 37.5% win record.

The Pick and Stick Era (BA)

2014 - 10th, 12 wins, 12 losses
2015 - 12th, 9 wins, 15 losses
2016 - 14th, 13 wins, 11 losses*
2017 - 4th, 16 wins, 8 losses
2018 - 16th, 6 wins, 18 losses
2019 - 5th, 14 wins, 10 losses
2020 - 3rd, 12 wins, 4 losses

76 wins, 78 losses - 49.4% win record.

Key take homes

  • Greater win percentage under pick and stick.
  • Best three seasons (based on win percentages) under pick and stick.
  • Four of the five best seasons (based on win percentages) under pick and stick.
  • The only season from chop and change that is in the top 5 win percentages is actually the first one before any chopping and changing had occurred.
  • Best two seasons are 2019 and 2020 (at the end of pick and stick).

* Ladder position impacted by salary cap

Pfft, stats. They don't tell you anything!

According to Gaz’s stats

2014 - 10th, 12 wins, 12 losses
2015 - 12th, 9 wins, 15 losses
2016 - 14th, 13 wins, 11 losses*
2017 - 4th, 16 wins, 8 losses
2018 - 16th, 6 wins, 18 losses
2019 - 5th, 14 wins, 10 losses
2020 - 3rd, 12 wins, 4 losses

76 wins, 78 losses - 49.4% win record.

You reckon those stats deserves an extension? Did we get excited too early ?

To be honest, I’m not sure.

Arthur's is a Parra junior and we're about to make the finals for the third year out of four. Plus in 2016 we won enough games to make the finals.
