Your language suggests we came 16th and failed to be competitive. The thing is we finished 3rd and and played two weeks of semi finals. Nobody will say that we can't improve, but how can you describe our efforts and the quality of our crew Titanic like ? You really think our trajectory is heading south ? When was the last time we went into a game as underdogs and no expectations of a win but we surprised and won.
I honestly can not think of one in recent years. Competed better yes but actually go out and cause an upset. Like say when dogs beat Spuths a few weeks back. Or Raiders beating Roosters in Friday etc.....

We seem to win games we expect or games where its a coin toss. But I can not think of any of late where we got one that nobody expected.

That comes down to your own expectations. How many teams do you genuinely consider us underdogs against to the point of Dogs beating Souths?

We led by ten (less than two converted tries) because we had all the ball in the first half (57%). I expected possession to turn around in the second half and that we were still a chance of losing. Souths also ignored our left side in the first half (Sironen 8 runs, Su'a 1 run) but after seeing we handled them well on that side they started going to our left in the second half (5 runs each from their edge forwards).
