He’s on par with Matt Elliot. He didn’t win one semi final game, despite his teams playing in a few.

would anyone here be happy signing a coach with that record?
Depends where the club is at. Based on where we are at now - No. But if we were languishing at the bottom I’m sure we’d have no hesitation in signing a coach that has proven he can build a solid squad and improve a team’s performance.

Thanks for answering. We have an Elliot clone But you wouldn’t be happy with Elliot.

Thanks for responding with 99% mince.

I’ve consistently said that so I am open to us moving on BA if we can find a better replacement. I’ve just said it again for clarity.

Well as there was no reserve grade in 2020 (after March) i would think that Carr was more involved with the NRL team and my mail is that this is likely to increase into 2021.
Does that mean we are utilising the same 3 assistants as this year (Kidwell, Murphy and Carr) but Ryan Carr is shifting full time to the first grade setup? Is that really much of a changeup seeing as though Carr was with the first grade team this year anyway due to no Canterbury Cup?

The main reason people expected us to lose was because we are chokers. Sure we had injuries to our outside backs but so did souths. They were missing 3 outside backs too - Latrell, Bayden Burns and James Roberts. The difference is that punters generally know Wayne Bennett coached teams get up for big matches at the right time of year. Eels teams under Brad Arthur not so much.

We finished 3rd and where at home yet Souths where the roaring favourites who finished 6th. That tells you where people thought we where as a side.

BA can coach. I reckon he’s capable of being a premiership winner. I just recognise there’s opportunities and threats with keeping him or getting someone else

When was the last time we went into a game as underdogs and no expectations of a win but we surprised and won.
I honestly can not think of one in recent years. Competed better yes but actually go out and cause an upset. Like say when dogs beat Spuths a few weeks back. Or Raiders beating Roosters in Friday etc.....

We seem to win games we expect or games where its a coin toss. But I can not think of any of late where we got one that nobody expected.

Murphy is attacking coach and Kidwell is defence coach of the NRL team, as I understand it Carr wound have been the reserve grade coach and assisting at the NRL level.

Carr is relatively new and that’s not the area I think needs to be refreshed. Just my thoughts and I could be wrong, but don’t understand why there is a reluctance to initiate change at that level.

I'd like Taylor as attack coach and Dean Pay as defense.

why do people not think we choked?

We finished 3rd and played the team who finished 6th at our HOME ground with a 10 point lead at halftime. Sports bet had us at 1.44 at the break.

I think it was a dissapointing capitulating choke. A woefull 40mins tbh. 30 points put on us at our home ground.

Talk about shuffling the deck chairs of the Titanic.

We all know how that movie ended up.
