The Bern denied it but it definitely seems like BA hasn’t had the same help and resources as previous seasons.Good point DJ. A few people have raised something similar. I think it is definitely a factor.

I’ve been saying this for months, he was brought in to clean out the shit.Max's appointment was only ever meant to get the salary cap shit off the back pages and maybe stop anyone asking questions about Seward and his testimony and his links to Greenberg. It was never for our benefit. And now we can't compete with the top teams despite having the resources. If Max can't effect real change, and I have real doubts he can, then he needs to f**k off.
Nike i believePS: we do have a couple of TPA's at least. Totally legit ones. Mennings has a long standing one with Puma (I think it is) and that is still in place and has been since his days at the Roosters at least
Uncle Nike always get his man.Nike i believe
AND interestingly enough, i noticed that as soon a Tedesco signed with the Roosters he started doing ads for, you guessed it, Nike .... what a coincidence!!
his name's FrankThe Max Factor? This could explain our disappointing signings.
Was discussing this today, has anyone mentioned that maybe BA wasn't given the chance to spend the amount of money he really wanted to last year?
Just a thought, we have heard Donnelly has been cutting costs, maybe he never allowed us to spend to much money either as far as our roster is concerned?
I understand how TPA's work thanks to the clarification of the rules that was discussed here at length during our salary cap breach.Do you understand TPAs need to come from someone willing to part with the money? A club genuinely facilitating TPAs can only direct potential sponsors (not current ones because that's against the rules outside of the capped MPA). So these businesses are asked if they would rather throw the money at an individual player than sponsor the club. They can have the player come to the business and greet customers or whatever. But the player can't wear his Eels gear.
Or they can just sponsor the club and get access to the brand and all the marketing opportunities attached to that. Unless the player is first picked in Origin every year the return on investment would be far better just sponsoring the club instead of throwing in a legitimate TPA. Genuine businesses want something in return for their money. Realistically the only TPAs are going to come from wealthy fans happy to spend cash to help the club buy players. And those are technically illegal.
You agreed with Djay when he said thisI didn't say we shouldn't have TPAs. I just suggested that Max would be focused on ensuring that they are legit.
I was seeking clarification as to exactly what he meant, particularly, his last 3 words. Was discussing this today, has anyone mentioned that maybe BA wasn't given the chance to spend the amount of money he really wanted to last year?

So do you really think there’s much the club can do about pulling in legitimate ones?I understand how TPA's work thanks to the clarification of the rules that was discussed here at length during our salary cap breach.
No and I never said there was.So do you really think there’s much the club can do about pulling in legitimate ones?
What shits me is that we wasted another season and we will doom another and stretch our misery to 33 years if Gurr doesn’t make the hard call before season 2019.
I hardly watch any other teams play unless it’s during semi final time.Just like it still shits me to tears that the coach of the 2005 side was told he might not have a gig in 2 years times the week before the final against the Cowboys.
Or that for the 2006, 2007 and 2009 season our season was finished by a team that was cheating the cap.
That we decided to follow that team in the way they run there football operation and that seems to have gotten us into this mess from 2012 onward.
2015 was a dark year, 2016 was a ray of hope and to have that snuffed out hurts.
But it doesn't just hurt us, if you believe some articles around it hurts league. Having Parramatta and the Dogs playing well means the game gets record numbers on TV and in other returns, when we aren't the game is poorer for it.
I can personally say that I went to Adelaide last weekend and apart from hearing there were punches thrown via Facebook, didn't give a toss about the weekends games. I used to care about and try to watch every game. Now I only watch us play most of the time.

Can anyone tell me how much game time Cameron King got last week. As far as I can remember he kicked it out on the full and wasn't see afterwards.
30min
according to nrl.com.au
It may have always been the plan though for him to play the first 30 and then hand over to Smith who would play the rest of the match if able. That only uses one interchange. King might've only been brought back on if Smith was gassed. Can anyone tell me how much game time Cameron King got last week. It only dawned on me yesterday during a chat. The Bern denied it but it definitely seems like BA hasn’t had the same help and resources as previous seasons.
