Don't forget we were being told that our attack was fine. Why are we bringing in Barrett if that was true?
And Ba said a couple years ago when we struggled scoring, our attack was an easy fix.

Remember the time he said "if we ever let a try in on one of our edges I will eat my own penis"And Ba said a couple years ago when we struggled scoring, our attack was an easy fix.

I don’t recall. But it seems only the apologists have been helping him in that department
Yes, just try harder. And Ba said a couple years ago when we struggled scoring, our attack was an easy fix.
Unfortunately for you I understand how logical statements work. Your argument is a logical fallacy.Yes me too
I can’t, but until you provide proof that the clubs are all spending the same I’m going to look at the uneven results over a decade or more and make the only logical assessment that the playing field isn’t level, as you imply. It’s an assertion that lacks evidence or logic.
Can you source this wealthier clubs statement? I don’t see how you could without knowing how much the privately owned clubs are spending, or having spent on their behalf.
Agreed, I like making the finals every year. It’s very exciting.
Media types benefit from feeding drama.
Agreed. I don’t get why we can never bring them to our club. Just unlucky I guess.
Third best of all the clubs required to report their financials. But even then the rankings only tell part of the story (like ladder position). You need to look at more granular data (like points differential). In this case we have less than half the equity of the second richest club and a third of the wealthiest.
You have to wonder why they wasted a season last year not training hard in the preseason. Had Payten never been involved in an NRL preseason before? It would have been bullshit if they weren’t winning but they are. You can only go off what’s being demonstrated.
No, I think 2009 was the tail end of a 12-year period where we spent well on football operations. With a bit of luck we could've won a premiership or two.The grand final in 2017 becomes less significant than the near bottom of the table finishes in recent seasons. Aren’t you the one who acknowledges our grand final in 2009 was an anomaly rather than an indicator of our club going in the right direction?
Agreed. I think they spent less after that period. It's the best explanation for why they died in the arse. They certainly didn't replace their coach. Green was there from 2014 to mid-2020. I'm sure he didn't forget how to coach.2017 is exactly the same for the Cowboys.
How can you prove the coach was responsible for those poor seasons? There are plenty more influential people at every club, most of them players. The Cowboys fared badly in 2021 because as I said before coaches can have bad seasons as well. Case in point Brad Arthur in 2018.
How can you say that while ignoring the new captain and the youngsters having breakout seasons? How can you isolate the effect of coaching when it is the most opaque element of what you see on the field?Payten obviously made some changes that are paying off for them now.
Because the teams that were best suited to the new ruck rules took that long to adjust to them. They didn't have a whole pre-season to prepare.I don’t know what you mean by early to mid 2020 exposing us. We were 12-3 after 15 rounds. Then we dropped off a cliff and haven’t found it again except for a few brief flashes.
I so need one of those.
They might have a poor individual season (the Roosters only won six games in 2016) but over the long term their spending becomes obvious.Who says a rich club can’t have mediocre to middling on field results? Do you even logic?
Obviously. Prior to 2014 Penn only owned 40% of the club. Since then he's owned all of it and whoever owned the 60% has clearly been missed. Were mid tier club Manly better resourced from 2007-2011 than they are now?
I guess we'll find out. He's a head coach. Surely he understands defence. It's about resource prioritisation rather than whether a merkin knows how to coach some part of the game. I'm sure they could all coach every aspect but there's only so many hours in a day.Is that his strength?
Most score less.I don't think we've seen enough Parraball to say we're good at it under those circumstances but maybe. And yes, other teams score a lot more than us.
Well if it lands on tails twice are you really going to complain about the coin? You do if you finish top 4 like 2 of the past 5 years
It's absolutely valid. You can't understand our lack of success without also understanding why some clubs are consistently strong while others are consistently weak. It can't be done with Parramattacentric lens, which is why you 'real fans' don't have an explanation that stands up to scrutiny. All you have is piss-taking. At least it makes you feel good.Nah. Sloth was talking all clubs. But either his contacts knew what they were talking about or he may have been making stuff up, and it was also 2017 - may not be so now (but probably similar)
Just get a new argument. That line is dead.
It's not about resource prioritisation. We got a new coach in to help the attack because the attack needed help.I guess we'll find out. He's a head coach. Surely he understands defence. It's about resource prioritisation rather than whether a merkin knows how to coach some part of the game. I'm sure they could all coach every aspect but there's only so many hours in a day.
