It’s the coaches job to pick the team, prepare the gameplan and motivate them to win. Who else does that if not the coach? How did Neil Henry go with one of the great playmakers and origin front rowers? Also I didn’t ask how many rep games they’d played. I asked if their front row pairing were any better than Paulo and RCG this season. Mitchell Pearce must be one of the all time great origin halfbacks since he got picked so many times right? How do you know?
They both achieved a lot more. They played a combined 36 Origins ffs.
Had a lot of big game players too.
Wasn't the first time Melbourne got flogged with one of their leaders unavailable.
And again, how much of this was down to Green? The answer is that you have no idea.
Shane Perry has won a premiership as well. Chad was dropped in the finals the year they won the comp and had Maloney running the show next to him. He got shown up against us in the prelim this season. Barely any kicks to Blake and they couldn’t score despite all that possession against us.
I don’t think we’re lacking grunt. We’re lacking players who can consistently defend with intense line speedNathan Cleary didn't exactly send a heap of traffic Waqa's way, either.
I'm not saying we're instant contenders with Townsend over Moses; I'm saying Townsend has a cooler head, has won a title, and would cost less (allowing us to add more grunt to our pack, hypothetically).

He's become stagnant and doesn't have the Bellamy, Hasler fire in the belly. He seems void of emotion. Win, lose or draw he's always the exact same. He doesn't have the ability to fire up a team. Then there's the whole Rouse Hill Rhinos/son favouritism thing, that's surely causing some friction within the club
We could've sacked Arthur before this year and made the grand final under some other coach. Then all the dopes would be saying we made it because we changed coaches.
I'd classify that as grunt, tbh.
Also, we have a quick tight forward in RCG, and the world's slowest in Paulo; methinks Junior may need to trim down somewhat...
We keep hearing Junior has been training the house down for 3-4 years.I'd classify that as grunt, tbh.

He does all the extras, strong diet and the ultimate professional these days.
Anything is possible i suppose but maybe Junior can't do anymore to trim down.
*CiraldoHe's at a bigger club ffs. This is the same club that won a comp and made another grand final with Paul Green. After they sacked him he couldn't get a job. That's how much his coaching contributed to a premiership with the Australian front row and the game's best playmaker. You merkins far overrate coaching as the magic bullet. The strength of the club is what matters, which Jack Gibson famously pointed out. It's why back-to-back premiership winner Cleary couldn't make the top eight in two seasons at Wests.
Nutrition science is garbage. No doubt he's doing what he's told is a good diet and that's the problem. We keep hearing Junior has been training the house down for 3-4 years.

f**k off Joel Caine.Trying to help the punters understand probability.
It's certainly possible - many people just are lumbered with their body type.
I hope he can alter it; I think he'd be more effective with more mobility, agility, and fitness, at the expense of some power.
At the very least, this would enable him to be effective, even if we don't have the ball.

It is, but how do you know how good a job a coach is doing? If Green was so good at it why did the Cowboys get so bad? Why did no other club want him after he was sacked? It’s the coaches job to pick the team, prepare the gameplan and motivate them to win.
I think they were. Their careers show they were better players.Who else does that if not the coach? How did Neil Henry go with one of the great playmakers and origin front rowers? What about drinking.Yes. I know friends who eat similar to me and I remain a very fit looking machine while they can't keep the weight off.

Do you watch your friends 24/7?
A substantial amount of people probably lie about their actual food and alcohol intake.
