Every single sports teams in every single sport around the world would have sacked Brad Arthur by now.

The board needs to be ruthless in all facets of the management of the team.

And the first ruthless task is to get rid of the coach.

Unfortunately the ones who need to making the decision are not ruthless but meek.

Meekness does NOT win premierships .... sort of iike how Brad Arthur will never win a premiership as head coach

The bolded bit is absolutely true. Coaches do suffer the consequences of team failure, however quite often they are forced to cop it on a “buck stops here” basis. BA’s time is coming to a close and that termination or resignation will happen in a respectful manner I reckon.

Whilst the coach is knee deep in it, winning NRL games is very much a team effort that starts Monday 9am. Players, squad depth, trainers are all equally up to their necks.

I can only see what happens on the field every weekend and certainly not silly enough to profess any insight as to who in the back office has failed us. That’s up to the board.

On the players, losing your two best guns is not easy and winning games becomes super hard and maybe even very unlikely BUT, errors and missed tackles have zip to do with that. Missed tackles are not an individual thing, one on one tackles are less common in NRL and “tackle breaks” usually occur because there is no second man in to help or someone has left that player isolated. That’s teamwork / attitude and it was seriously lacking in the last 40 yesterday. Sad. That’s on the players.

I think the Board will make their decision/inform him during the Origin period, whenever we have another loss with Moses and Gutherson both returned from injury.

Whether they make it public or not then is another matter, or keep it quiet (including BA's potential 2025 replacement) until end of the year.

Maybe this has already been done?

If it was it would have come out.

There are no secrets in this game. Players would tell there managers and they would leak to the press.

You can't keep that hidden unless no one knows bar the 7 board members.

Even so to contact a potential replacement behind BA's back would be reached to the media eventually.

I don't think this Board want to do that.

If not done, certainly put on notice.

Hmm to rule it out in absolute terms seems silly.

Yep. The fact he is not front and centre of fox sports today means the club has nothing up their sleeve. There would be more in the media if the board were sounding out other coaches.

Does he see the season out with Lomax due to play next season and/or the board not wanting to pay him out?

Rather than what you want or would do, at what point do you think it will happen?
I don't think it will happen.

The board answer to no one, they have no need to listen to the fans as our "Membership" has not direct influence on the boards job.

Remember the days that we all thought that Denis was untouchable. . . well this lot actually are.

The fans have the ultimate power.

If you don’t like what you see don’t turn up to games.

If the players don’t turn up to games why should you fans.

You’ll soon get the boards attention.

In all seriousness and limiting my reply to rugby league matters, I can't see him being sacked by our board.

There is no doubt he should be, as yesterday's performance was highly embarrassing and the third of fourth of its kind this year. It's indicative of a team that is either not prepared properly, or not listening to the coaching staff. Either way, both of those situations mean BA's position should be untenable.

But there is an inertia about Paramatta's operations and that inertia seems to carry through to players, coaching, admin, the whole box and dice. Change at this club is usually ponderous and well after the horse has bolted, which is why we bottom out when poor, as we just lack the dynamism in management and coaching to adjust.

Because of that inertia, I truly think he will be here at least until the end of this year and, unfortunately, I think that means they will view this year as a lost year for many reasons and give him his last year.

Rule what out we have reached out potential coaches.

I don't think we have it would have come out via a 3rd-party into the media.

Weather it be manager of a coach agitating BA to be sacked to get a potential client a gig.

I think the club as we speak today the aim is to hold out till the end of the year to make the final judgement.

And it’s a bloody good thing! Means rational decisions can be made, without factions fighting it out in the media, new boards every few years and coaches being replaced after 2 years …..

As bad as our NRL form is, everything isn’t always as bad as it seem….

Smith didn’t quit because he was being replaced. Smith knew heading into 2006, he wasn’t being extended and Hagan was replacing him.
I think he did quit because the lemon had been squeezed dry and we were losing. He did the honourable thing and quit despite having a contract until the end of 2006. Remember JT replaced him and we made the semis from a similar position to what we have now.

Yep, our form has been poor, especially effort levels for certain periods. And Moses/Gutho won’t fix that.

But sacking BA mid season achieves SFA!

While there is always the possibility that changes coaches next year will achieve not much, as we may be in the cycle that our squad is just not good enough after 4 years of making the finals.

Even during our last period of stability under Smith, we made the finals 6 times before 2 years of shit, before coming good again 2005-07. While replacing Smith with Hagan, started the period of decline….

Anyhow, I wouId have had a crack at Bennett. Not often an opportunity to have an elite coach comes along. It’s a massive missed opportunity.

I do think it’s time for a change and I expect it will happen once the season is over! The eels have already alluded that BA position will be reviewed after the season. And TBH I wouldn’t be surprised if BA walks if we don’t make the finals.

Plenty of time between August/September to review BA’s performance, recruit a coach and be ready for November.

BTW it’s been rumoured Holbrook is probably the leading contender at this stage.

Storm had 3, yes 3, spine players missing and put 30 on us in second half. Didn't worry them. In fact plenty of teams are missing their halfback and keep winning so that argument doesn't hold water as far as I'm concerned. And yes, D doesn't come down to 2 missing players, its a whole of team effort and been missing for years. That is ON BA.
