never said its what gronk said you twit .... i just said gronk lives in the real world where there is no f**king chance our admin will throw money around willy nilly
and as i said that is wrong seeing he incorrectly said exactly why he wouldn't be sacked and it had nothing to do with Frank

Corrrrrrrrect.
lol

that's not what you said

do the words cutting staff ring a bell?

nuthugger

PS Do you know that there is a football department salary cap now ? Did you know that if you sack the coach then we'll need to cut funding in other areas ?

If you bothered to read my post in the Do We Want BA as Coach (this) thread (I pinged you) you would have seen that the NRL have a coaching staff cap and if we sack BA we’d have to cut staff bc the old coach and new coach salary is counted under the staff cap.

You are still ignoring the fact that sacking a coach comes out of your staff cap next year plus the new coach's salary.

So whether BA is on $600K or the rumored $1m is beside the point. The club still needs to make cuts to their staff if they sack the coach.

Do you understand this ?

Seems to me we'd either have to cut staff, or pay a premium over and above what it would otherwise have cost.

Based on what we've seen from our admin thus far, I wouldn't be betting on them throwing money at the NRL for nothing.

my 2 cents from what I believe will happen

We will wait till 2019 Rd 10-12 or thereabouts to decide what to do with BA
If we end up having a new coach it will be 2020 and beyond

who even knows that sacking him would make us go over and even if it did we would get the money back due to better on field performances

Even though results have been poor , the major repair needs to be roster management and recruitment and basically new ideas form the support coaches. Anyone that know BA would understand how hard he works, now is the time to work smarter not harder. we don't need any more 3 hit ups, a sweep play then a bomb, think most opponents have that covered as it has been in the playbook for 3 years.
Given how he carried the club for a few years, if he doesn't refresh the roster and bring in new staff, then the door is open and seeya.
I believe obvious replacements in recruitment manager, and assitamt coaches and please , please, not the AFL conditioner, we looke3d so physically underprepared this season. we could possibly beat every club at a 1500 metre race, not physically. At the last Captains Club briefing, it was admitted that the AFL guy gave a terrific interview and they all agreed it was a chance to change the way they train, also went on to say it was a mistake.

Serious? Good on the club for being honest but I’m astounded they would admit that mistake in such a public forum. That gives a whole new context to the Hayne interview IMO and it is entirely possible the playing group have lost confidence in our conditioning. No wonder our confidence is shot on the field as well.

There is a new ex Storm conditioner, I understand the AFL guy is still at training but is basically sidelined and walks around on the edges as the new guy has run the sessions for the past 3/4 weeks.

My problem is what made them hire the AFL guy in the first place only to realise he was shit. Doesnt fill me with confidence at all in the clubs decision. I mean it was Ron Palmer the year before.

Spot on. What possessed us to take a gamble on such a drastic change to the way we train coming off a top 4 finish. We needed minor tweaks, not radical overhauls.

Thanks for the info mate. It has wasted a year but at least they had the sense to do something about it.

It is just how I see it. I assumed he was that good it was a cant miss decision. Home run sort of thing.

Apparently his presentation was sensational, won’t be the first or last time that someone’s presentation exceeds their accomplishments.

Happened to me in a business decision and no doubt to plenty of people who post on here.

Being able to see it and rectify it at least that makes some sense
