If you bothered to read my post in the Do We Want BA as Coach (this) thread (I pinged you) you would have seen that the NRL have a coaching staff cap and if we sack BA we’d have to cut staff bc the old coach and new coach salary is counted under the staff cap.

I’ll be very interested to see who survives the cull from the football department. I guess we’ll have a better understanding of what’s going on in the strength and conditioning space come the start of the preseason.

Mate, every facet of our game has been a flaw (except getting repeat sets). We’ve struggled in our own 20, in the opposition 20, in defence, our discipline blows and we look totally over structured. f**k part of me wants sandow back, at least he tried things and they paid off at times.

It’s a funny way of thinking that businesses have. In the corporate world if someone comes in at a lower rate and then outperforms team members on more money than them and they ask for a pay rise, they get told they can’t justify that to their superiors.

Said employees quit because they know they deserve more money and the only way to get it is to leave because bosses can’t see past their current budget.

Of course no one is indispensable, however the effort you have to go through to hire someone new, then pay them more than you were willing to give the ex employee and then deal with training said employee. They can justify the new higher salary for the new employee because the market dictates that amount.

It is the dumbest f**king thing i have seen and being pretty senior in what i do now i have been the employee who has left for more money and been involved trying to explain that to management how dumb that thinking is.

Anyways, my point is businesses are dumb as f**k!!

But if your to smart and ambitous maybe they see you as a threat to there own position so prefer too keep you away and a few steps below them in the ladder. Prefer to promote someone who they dont see as a threat.
When I worked fulltime and felt like playing the game Id ask the boss if he be working out or on a diet. An egomaniac he would love it. Talk for 15mins and I be handed the easier jobs for the week.

You are still ignoring the fact that sacking a coach comes out of your staff cap next year plus the new coach's salary.

So whether BA is on $600K or the rumored $1m is beside the point. The club still needs to make cuts to their staff if they sack the coach.
