You have the keys to the car. You can do whatever you like to ‘improve the club’. Clearly you want BA gone. Who would you replace him with? Which players would you get rid of? who would you replace them with?

Ok smarty. Where in my post did I mention BA? I wouldn’t want to get rid of moses. If Drown continues to stagnate, I’ll consider the options at 6.

If we make the finals and get bundled out like in previous seasons I’ll consider options for 2022.

just like BA was once an assistant, surely there’s others out there that can coach.


We certainly have a decent roster that can challenge for a top 4 spot. If Ba can’t deliver maybe time for a change.

BA should stay as long as we get to the preliminary final and even if he fails again I’d be reluctant to sack him because it’s obvious that we have a happy camp which may implode if we bone him too early.

He can’t however stay forever and I think we should reassess by mid next year.

If we were to sack him I’d only go for a coach with recent and relevant NRL experience. Flanagan is the obvious choice but I’ve heard mixed reviews of him. I know plenty that just can’t cop him.

The coach that I think needs a fresh start who would bring new ideas is Trent Robinson. I’d be looking at him seriously as I reckon he would be one coach that would entice most of our players coming off contract at the same time as BA to play for him. I’m talking about players like Gutherson, Paulo, Matterson and the two Browns. Possibly even Moses.

Robinson is also a coach that doesn’t suffer fools and will tap someone on the shoulder who is not in his long term plans and would be able to attract some key new signings.

The more I think about it, the more I think the club will hand the game day reins to Carr with BA overseeing the non-game day duties. But I also worry Carr would be a bit green dealing with NRL egos

I'd even prefer more of BA to Flanagan. We don't need him or his son. Personally I'd love to see changes to an assistant or two but that's not rocket science.
I noticed yesterday that Ryan Carr was in the coaches box. I like that. We need new ideas continually. Hopefully this bloke provides some and he has the coaches ear.

The only realistic option should we shit the bed stage appears to be Flanno. We aren’t exactly flushed with great options. No point changing if it isn’t an improvement.

We also have Joey Grima in the ranks who was assistant coach to Flanno and had 2 seasons as head coach London Broncos.

Ryan Carr has coached Souths NYC, Raiders reggies, Sticky's assistant coach and coached in Leeds and Featherstone.

I wouIdnt change coaches.

However the best option available is Wayne Bennett. And it’s pretty realistic too as he has no gig for 2022.

And it wouId probably suit his ego to get the eels that premiership like he did at the dragons ....we have a decent squad ..

He’s moving to Brisbane. I reckon he’ll be head coach of the 2nd Brisbane team.

Stranger things have happened though...
