We just want to win ffs! The club can worry about how to pay for it later.

He is a solid coach. Unfortunately he has had 9yrs. Some good years to and he will get another job as a head coach. Probably in the UK.
But we need a change, for better or worse.

If BA left now I see him as a guy who did ok with us. I wouldn't hate on him. I feel he made some woefull calls during his time.
Watmough,Foran signings. Ray Stone at hooker in a final over W.Smith.
K.E playing hooker in an NRL game.
Bringing Kaysa onto bench against Cowboys in a finals match....
His persistence with JA on bench.

Anyhows I understand your point. A new coach won't change everything but we are stale. And sometimes a change is as good as a holiday.

Unless we have a massive form change (and go deep into the finals), this is probably the start of the end of BA.

There has also been the occasional whisper in the media BA was under pressure this year (think Webster has suggested it a few times too) and we needed to go deep into the finals.

But talk of sacking BA today is crazy , the board is to professional for that, if it happens it will be in the offseason….

Additionally I reckon, if the poor form continues, I wouldn’t be surprised if BA walked away (reckon there is more to it BA being offered to the dogs).

Me personally, I was always of the opinion there needs to be a better option to change coaches, however it’s probably time now that a change is simply required (unless a miracle happens this year)

However if it happens we need to be careful who we appointed (and I have some opinions) and not have a Hagan scenario where all Smiths good work wasn’t built on. We need to build on what BA has done (which is massive compared to what we were like when he started)

Anyhow for the rest of the year BA gets my support and I will be cheering on the mighty eels! Next year and what it brings can wait!

Sacking him now won't achieve anything imo.

But he should not start 2023 as our head coach.

The ladder isn’t sorted by points differential. It’s by the number of games won. Also add in the fact that they were missing Thurston then that makes them undoubtedly inferior. We did really well against a Melbourne Storm side that had every right to blow us off the park but we failed against the Cowboys.
We went through this shit in detail a while ago and there was a f**k load of data that suggested for and against is a better indicator of a teams ultimate success at the end of the year compared to ladder position.

Yep may as well just let the side crash and burn one more time.

Even a honourable week 2 finals loss if we get that far won't cut it. This team had numerous chances to establish itself in the top 4 and haven't taken it.

Sacking him now achieves nothing especially with no capable replacements. Handing the reins to Murphy or Carr would be ridiculous.

The club or board though needs to be asking itself now what replacement they want though. Do they want an experienced coach or a rookie coach.

I see it more as we should allow whoever the new coach will be to have a full season to work their magic.

We would write 2023 off, as without knowing who the coach is, we may not attract any quality players.

But Arthur cannot remain as head coach - he has no answers to our issues.

What about the decision in 2018 to play French and The Plane on the wings. Hello??? Who the f**k was going to ruck the ball out from our end.

The coaching staff at the Cowboys certainly seem to be getting the best out of those players now.

To be honest it can't just be as simple as putting in an experienced half back at the Broncos and Cowboys and things just dramatically turn around. Particularly the Cowboys, they seem to have had a dramatic turnaround in one off season.

Adam O’Brien has done nothing at the Knights
This also comes back to tactical nous being wasted with a shit team. He's got to work on all the fundamentals of being competitive and can't use all his tactical nous. Seibold at Souths and Jason Taylor here in 2006 are perfect examples of what coaches with high tactical nous can do with great players, but are utter shit with shit teams. Robinson I suspect would be exactly the same. He has a fair side at his disposal to play with that tactical nous he's got in that head.

Cowboys I heard had what they call having the toughest pre season ever and got absolutely flogged.

And you can tell they look heaps fit plus a lot of there young quality forwards are just starting to mature.

Yeah, I've heard the stories of their pre-season. You know what I heard seemed to all make sense. The purpose of it all seemed that all they wanted to do was install resilience into them and make them get use to adversity. These seemed like good traits needed if you want to build some success into a sports team as far as I am concerned.
