Does Brad Arthur deserve the hype?

Until he makes changes its going to continue.

I have a few tips for him....

1. Stop Norman kicking the ball, both clearing and last tackle. He kicks it down the wingers/fullbacks throat every time and the last tackle option kicks are some of the worse I have seen. Punt Watmough or tell him if he passes the ball in the line one more time he is going to cop 80 lashings! Drop Hoppa from fullback

Give them a simple game plan... just run hard, tackle hard and hold the ball forget anything else because we are f@cken useless.

Maybe BA knows that Sandow wont be here next year and giving Norman practice

Virtually the same team, with the same tactics, with the exact same interchange setup, beat the best team in the competition only two weeks ago.

I don't agree with the make up of the team, but I still think that alot of our performance yesterday was attitude. We weren't really keen to do those little 100% things that can make a difference in any match.

Although I think it's an excuse and a bullshit one at that, I don't think the 5 day turnaround did us any favours either.

Was it the same tactics?

My memory of the Souths game could use some jogging, but DeGois and Paulo played a total of 60 minutes against Souths.
In each of the last 2 games Paulo has played 60 minutes, with DeGois getting close to 40.

Can't be the same tactic if players are playing different minutes. I don't remember too much of the tiny trio being on the paddock at the same time in the Souths game (maybe 15 minutes worth?)

I don't know what the tactics were in either game, because I'm not part of the coaching staff. But if the tactics changed you have to ask why they would've changed.

If De Gois and Paulo only played a total of 60 minutes combined against Souths why have the tactics changed now?

De Gois only played 40 mins last week because Morgan got injured, otherwise I suggest he would've just been on for 25 mins like he was yesterday. The issue with De Gois is that he's there to close out a game with his defence at the back end of the game, but that is useless if we're behind when he comes on.

No idea Chipmunk?

Perhaps it worked really well having the 3 smaller guys on at the same time vs Souths? Opened up the ruck for us with easy meterage out of dummy half? Like I say, I can't remember too well.
But if that (or something like that) were the case, one can understand why it would not only be given another chance, but be given extra time.

I think it is a mistake as a tactic, makes us too small and we cannot contain the 'roll' from opposition big men. We aren't a small pack, and shouldn't play down in size just because we want to give Js Paulo minutes...

Norman is the one who usually finds space with his kicks, he kicks them much flatter than Sandow which is awesome for finding space but useless when kicking for position on the field unless you have a fantastic kick chase line and are lucky with the bounce of the ball and positioning of the fullback.

That gameplan would be useless, any team would pick up on that straight away and our play would not only be predictable but also well-contained.

The forum will go into meltdown if Paulo still plays next week and peni terepo misses out for Richie or Pauli.

Last year BA made some big calls by dropping moi moi, yet continues to pick this imposter of a first grader.

Paulo offers the team absolutely nothing, his passes were average and has a non existant running game. He should be stamped to never play first grade again. How he manages to keep securing contracts is right up there with how RS keeps remaining employed within the nrl.

We are behind the 8 ball just by naming him week in week out. No point in blaming mannah or watmough. Those guys got to try and cover for this turd
and the fact we are carrying another hooker on the bench.

This ain't the 2000's and BA needs to pick the team accordingly. It's all about ruck speed and the wrestle. Paulo and de Gois are doing the team no favours.

It will make a mockery of the completion rate talk if he brings Richie in after one game.

He played strongly but has a heap of dropped ball in him.

While he I still underdone that will be a big risk.

DeGois played hooker in the Souths game with Peats as a backrower,

However, DeGois has been player backrower in the last few games.

If BA wants to persist with this then he should make them run from dummy half.

i.e. peats first dummy half run, deGois 2nd, hoppa 3rd.

He would of been training all off season and the past six weeks since the competition started. Not sure why he couldn't come off the bench for two 15 minute stints.

If BA wants to save the 2015 season changes are needed. Paulo and de Gois aren't the answer.

so lets say we drop both degois n seffa off the bench ... what do we do if peats gets injured or can't be useful for the full 80?

I don't think that should be a concern. We just make do. The same way the Tigers would have to if Farrah gets injured, the Broncos if McCullough goes down etc.

Yep. You can't carry a specialist hooker on the bench just in case your 80 minute starting hooker gets injured during a game. The same argument applies to fullbacks, wingers, centres and halves.

You definitely need a backup hooker in your top 25 but he doesn't necessarily have to be in the top 17. If you're going to carry two hookers, they either need to split 80 minutes between them, or one of them needs to be big enough to be effective elsewhere in the pack (e.g. Mark Riddell).

I'm really intrigued to see what we front up with the next couple of weeks in two away games in Newcastle and Brisbane.

Given our performances the last couple of weeks if we don't front up with some decent performances, irrespective of whether we win or not, then we really have some major problems with this team at the moment.
